Need instructions for kiln use by
Karen
Someone gave me a massive kiln. It stands about 4' high and is about 4'
square. It has a kiln-sitter control. The outside is metal with a hinged
lid mechanism. I have no idea how to use it. Please direct me to a website
or something for instructions. I thought about selling it and buying a...

Pants leg idea from Dewitt - oops - sorry by
DKat
I have been miss-attributing this idea to coming from one of the Steve's.
In doing an archive search I found this. Sorry about that. It was a Steve
(not a regular I think) who generated the thread that led to the response.
A really great idea - that is easy to use in different ways (I use a...

Chrome tin pinks by
plodder
Hi all, does anybody have the recipe for Emannuel Cooper's chrome/tin
pink, stoneware glaze, I had it several years ago but can't find it
amongst my papers. It's an unusual glaze, pink where thick and blue in
thinner areas; I believe he called it "Midnight fun". Help please!
Cheers, Andy

Christmas candles? by
Bill DeWitt
I spent half the day searching local stores, the other half searching google
for some of those window candles with electric lights that are made out of
porcelain or ceramic. I would think that someone makes them, but all I can
find is cheap plastic junk. Anyone seen some nice ones for sale?

jabba
I'm building a house for my wood fired kiln (Steve Mills
helped me greatly with the kiln) and posted some pics
of it's early stages on my site. More to come later.

porcelain bisque blanks for dinner ware by
[email protected]
I need a source for unglazed porcelain bisque ware which I can decorate
and fire to cone 5 (not 05). What I most want is dinner plates, salad
plates and soup/desert bowls. All I seem to find is pre-glazed pieces
for china painting and that is NOT what I want to do. Any help would
be...

Low Fire Pottery by
5string
Can someone/anyone recommend a good book on low-fire pottery -- e.g.,
throwing/hand-building, glazes/glazing, firing, kiln recommendations, etc...
Thanks. Rick

Christmas houses? by
Bill DeWitt
I was thinking about starting to make my own Christmas town houses. So far
my idea is to press some tiles in the shape of walls and roofs and bonding
them together. This is (IMO) better than attempting to make a multipart mold
and slip casting it.
But since I don't know the pro's and con's of...

Presenting My Nuts by
the ''Kroozr''
I have a project in mind and want to know if its feasable to use a coil
method but to weave it like a basket. I have over a bushell of pecans
this year and thought they would make nice gifts. I wanted to make
small baskets aproximately the diameter of a soup bowl but twice as
high. My concern is...

I apologize if this is a repeat of a previous conversation but I have been off the newsgroup for a while. Have any of you used decals printed on a home printer on your work? What have been your experiences? Have you fired these decals?
I am looking to use some on some artistic pieces - so they...
