Copying Ready-to-Wear Clothing by
Mignon
Hello! I have a favorite 4-piece outfit that fits and wears like a dream
(pants, vest top, and jacket); however, it is winter wear. I would like to
copy this outfit for a spring/summer outfit. It has simple lines, but I
don't know how to begin.
I was certain that I have heard of this kind of thing...

Hello, rcts. I am new to this group.

My day started at G Street Fabrics near here. I got a bulb...

Looking for Fabric by
Jodi
Hi All,
I'm new to this group, so I hope no one minds me jumping right in with
questions.
Do any of you buy fabric online? I checked out two samples of drapery
fabric from Hancock and I wanted to see if I could find a better price
online or at a different store, but I'm having a heck of a time...

US Navy logo fabric by
Kari
I'm looking for the US Navy fabric that Hancock's had a year or two ago. It
has a navy background with 1 1/2 inch Official Seal of the US Navy on it.
Anyone have some they are willing to part with or know where i can get some?
Thanks!

Railroad Stipped Denim Fabric by
SSchofield
Help:
I am looking for the blue and white stripped fabric that railroad hats and
overalls are made of. I have look on line but haven't found any. Do any of
you have a company that sells or makes it? We need this for a square dance
convention that is using trains for the theme.

How to wash satin materials? by
LB
I have some old satin I would like to use and some of it has some faded
patches (I think from light). Is it possible to wash it so it all
matches or is there a way to blend the colors with some type of stain
remover?
Thanks!

Thanks and pictures by
Dawn Alguard
Last month I posted a question about cutting strips for a futon cover I
was working on. Just wanted to say thanks for the tips. My strips
ended up reasonably straight. And here's a photo of the cover and my
sewing room in general. I know you guys are pretty talented sewers here
so you probably...

how to repair nylon ski pants by
[email protected]
i have ripped my new 100% nylon (polyamide) ski pants. what is the best
way to repair the rip? sewing, glueing ...??
it doesn't necessarily need to be wash proof, or even that water
resistant, just strong.
thanks

What's the best way to get an eleastic waistband the right size? by
Volfie
I'm making a pair of shorts for someone far away and I was wondering how I
should measure the elastic for the waistband to make them fit just right?
If the person has a size 32" waist, should the elastic be just a bit smaller
than that or do you measure exactly the right size? Or allow a bit...

Rwalling
I was trying to sell stuff on ebay and I just couldn't handle all the fees.
At You've Made It! we charge $1.00 for each item you sell. No other fees.
Nothing to list items, nothing to open an account, no percentage of final
sale taken. This site is brand new, and I would really like to get...

Drafted my first pattern by
Andy Dingley
I made a pair of jodhpurs recently. Ridiculous things - just a
one-off for a party. I'll be wearing them together with jackboots and
a rather 19th century military jacket for a "Ruritanian Space Cavalry"
look.

hypotheses regarding human headshape and hat shapes by
Neil Fernandez
Hypotheses:
- human head shape, in a horizontal plane just above the ears, is
approximately the shape made by joining a semicircle with a
semi-ellipse, where the ellipse has eccentricity 1/sqrt(2)
- hat ovals are ellipses with eccentricity 0.5
I'd be grateful for any help with this.
