? about finishing Polymer Clay pieces by
Karleen/Vibrant Jewels
To all you PC artists:
I received these questions today about my husband's beads/pendants:
"A question regarding the finishing of the polymer clay beads if you will:
just how are they finished?
Are they sanded with various grades of sandpaper?
By hand? On a wheel?
Are they sealed/finished with an...

? about glass seed bead sizes by
Patricia Amos
I am new to this group and hope that my ? has not been asked and answered
1000 times. However, what I need to know is what size are Mill Hill Glass
Seed beads? There are numbers on each pkg label ( diagonal on the lower
right) which I thought referred to the bead color. The beads called for...

? about silvered beads by
Vibrant Jewels
I'm seeing a lot of awesome lampwork beads lately with silvered dots on the
outside as accents, apparently REAL silver. Won't these tarnish though? That
would be a bummer.

? about yahoo groups by
Karleen/Vibrant Jewels
I belong to several yahoo groups such as beadshop and joolcrafting, and have
enjoyed them all. Some days all I get done is reading their email and
checking out sites and sales! I also have gotten a lot of cool ideas from
them and have been encouraged to try new things and buy new materials. So
I'm...

goodly quantity of mixed colors and shapes of glass beads to supplement some of
the Czech glass I have. Halstead Bead used to have bulk mixes, but they now
have a $100 minimum order. Does anyone have any ideas of websites...

Spot
I have been making some beaded necklaces and have a nice selection built up
and I'm planning on going to a craft show the begining of December. I'd
like to display them in gift boxes and I think it must makes it nicer for
the buy to take them home that way. I'm wondering where the best place...

Cindy Schoepp
You are right...there is a definite bonus to having a thicker center.
The press I am interested in is the dual crunch and isn't part of the deal
with presses...as it is a new press. I am debating if I can manage this
press with no base!?!?
Thanks for your suggestion. I didn't know they sold...

?AD (more of a brag, really) and a big THANK YOU! by
Georgia
One of the main reasons I lurk in this newsgroup is to check out the eye
candy in people's ads and auction-surfing expeditions. (The other main
reason is Kathy N-V's stories, of course). So this is a big thank you!! to
everyone who posts.
I've kept quiet about this (not wanting to jinx anything?)...

A Bali Question by
PaulaGarlic
Does anyone know of a Bali silver seller (not wholsale) who has Bali silver
crosses? Not tiny ones...I am trying to do a rosary entirely in Bali, but I
need to find crosses or crucifixes to match. I've tried matching some
"non-Bali" ones with the Bali beads and spacers, but it just doesn't...

a Bead Dream by
Diana Curtis
In all the years I have made quilts I have never dreamed a design, but now I
have had two bead dreams. The first was for a pair of chandelier type
earrings and I regret I didnt think to sketch it for later reference. The
second came during my nightly self story telling (a ritual to help me...

A Beader In The Making? by

Ok, so most of you probably have read about my 5 yr. old cousin with cancer.
And I'm sure some of you know about the necklaces they have the kids make.
Where they give a different bead for each procedure they have done.
I understand that Becca has her necklace started. The other day they...

A Beader's Halloween Costume by
Beadbimbo
I told DD we could get a pole and run it down the back of her shirt and
through a hole in the seat of her pants, and she could go as a bead on a
mandrel. I said I'd walk behind, holding a flashlight beam on her, being
the torch.
She proceeded to give me her reasons for NOT going as a bead. ...
