lining material for a bell pull by
[email protected]
I'm hoping someone can help me with this one.
I stitched a grape pattern from Just Cross stitch - the one in the
August, 2001 issue - that I want to make into a bell pull. I printed
Tia Mary's instructions on making a bell pull. Here's my question: I
need to line this sucker with a material that...

Mighty Bright Arrived! by
Suzanne
My Mighty Bright light just arrived and I'm very happy with it! *happy
dance* It's small and fairly lightweight, but the construction seems
sturdy enough to last a while. I got the "deluxe" package with an
AC/DC adapter, magnifier shade, and two replacement bulbs. The way the
base is made it...

Dove's Eye Hardanger Help by
lrdavis
I'm working on a very nice Lorri Birmingham table runner and things have
been going well until I got to the Dove's Eyes. I am doing the stitch
correctly but I'm wondering about the tension. My "eyes" seem to be a
little squinty, not nice and open. Any suggestions would be welcome.
TIA,

OT - good movie by

If you can get a bunch of your best friends together for an afternoon at the
movies, go see Ella Enchanted. Nothing deep, but truly funny and sweet.

To Wash or Not to Wash - that is the question by
Cindy
Hello Ladies,
Some of the cross stitch kits I've purchase recommend washing your
finished product before framing. Why does it need to be washed? What
is the benefit for or against washing. I understand why you'd
pre-wash darker threads before use, but I need some help understanding
why you'd...

Almost passed. Phooey! by
fran
I decided to try for my Master's certification in canvas embroidery
from the EGA. After 2 years (actuall stitching time was probably
closer to 3 months), and a lot of trial and error, I sent in the first
of six submissions.
I get it back and discover I used 11 different stitches instead of...

How to calculate the length of the thread needed by
Isam
Hello,
I am reading here and there (and with many efforts, for I am not english
fluent, but french) and want to thank you all and each one of you for
your interesting messages.
I need to know the length of floss needed in the charts I create, and
wondered if you know the site where it is possible...

Redwork--colorfast red by
BDS2pds
I was told #304 is the correct historical red DMC for redwork. Any of you
redwork experts in here know which red is colorfast? I don't care if it is
Anchor or DMC.

ISO Chart for my Stitchin' Buddy Janet by
Tia Mary-remove nekoluvr to reply
Hi Guys,
Janet has asked me to post this request to the group. One of the charts she
lost in the fire was titled (she thinks) "All Through the House". She also
thinks it was aLeisure Arts chart and there were at least 2 coordinating
designs. The charts look like doll houses from the back side...

Question about count by
Amberinauburn
I have a question about Aida cloth. I bought a small kit to do while I acted as
an election judge back in March. It was on 10 count Aida. It had an I Love the
USA theme. I loved it; it was easy on my eyes and very easy to do. Now this
question has come up. When I went back to a project on 14 count....

Thread Straighteners by
Chip Orange
Hi, all
I get Silver Needle's newsletter and Lindy talks about a new product called
Thread Straighteners. Two acrylic rods with squishy foam in the middle of
each rod. You wrap the cut ends of floss or other fiber around each piece
of foam and then pull the acrylic rods apart. Somehow this...

A Great Book! by
Suzanne
I'm always on the lookout for new projects, so I'm always checking out
people's sigs (where they often list WIPs) and looking at older posts
through Google. Quite a few times I saw people posting about a design
called Amid Amish Life, and it sounded really interesting. I searched
all over the net...

Antiques Road Show by
Maureen In Vancouver, B.C.
Hi everyone. I don't usually watch t.v. but for some reason I caught
Antiques Road show twice in the past two weeks. Did anybody catch what some
of the antique needlework goes for? Or how beautifully some of it was
worked? One man had a piece he considered ugly. It was left in the house
when...
