Hardanger Cloth Colors by
Suzanne
I've been doing a lo of windowshopping online and have found different
places that make beautiful hand-dyed or overdyed (there a difference or
am I just getting it wrong). You can even find Aida done, as well as
Jobelan and all kinds of linens. Even if you don't get it hand-dyed,
you usually have...

This will put the cat among the pigeons! by
Pat Porter
My daughter started Hardanger a few weeks ago - and informed me this morning
that it`s just too BORING!!! Since it`s something I`ve not yet tried, I
can`t voice and opinion, but since Jane has a pretty high boredom threshold
when it comes to stitching, she`s put me right off!!!

Celtic Horse Goddess by
KDLark
I dug up this chart so I could answer a question about it -- it has been a WIP
for almost a year and a half and parts have been scattered. It's from NVP
Design, by a designer named Robin MacGrogan, and is called "Epona II." It's
the bane of my exsistence because I am incredibly bored with it. ...

DMC Linen by
Lynne Demmery
Has anyone used DMC linen before? What are your thoughts on it if you
have?
I bought some from my local craft store here in Ottawa and it's as
stiff as canvas, feels and even looks like a canvas (you can see right
through it). Makes a great Canvas alternative. Luckily, I'm filling
it ALL in...

Scarlet Letter's "Afghani belt" by
juanon
Can anyone give me a list of the DMC colors used on this project? I
have completed it and want to do some pieces in its colors to display with
it. Incidentally, it is a beautiful piece, but mis-labelled. It is Uzbek
rather than Afghan, and not "Afghani," which means it is only worth two
cents! ...

Canvas work by
anne
I've just started my very first needlepoint canvas and chose a picture of an
ice cream sundae because it doesn't have a lot of details so I could learn some
fancy-schmanzy stitches to fill the background and other large-ish shapes. It's
approximately a 14" square, stapled to stretcher bars.
I'm...

TW's The Castle by
KDLark
Today I went to the Friends of the Library sale in Gainesville, and spent my
entire time there going through a couple of boxes of cross stitch magazines.
It's getting kind of disappointing, because it looks like I have most of the
"run" of Cross Stitch and Country craftsmy fave. Most of the stuff...

perle cotton by
CowieLuv
If one changes the fabric for a design from 36ct to a more "vision friendly"
32 or 28, do I need to change pc sizes? This one calls for the eyelets to be
stitched with the #12 stuff. Not familiar with this weight, I usually use #5.
Any ideas??

In laws by

Oh the day was going so very well and then just got the email that they are
coming. When we go there we don't care to smell like bad fish so leave after
two days. These folks have no clue about such manners. Ahum. This time I was
luckily already scheduled on the day after three days of them...

I do wish there were a way on my computer to delete a posting without having to
open it up. I get so tired of seeing the same very unacceptable posting over,

Stitchers' World Back Issues by
Suzanne
I bought the May 2004 issue of Stitchers' World, and it has the next to
the last panel in a series they ran for making a Victorian garden cross
stitch or needlepoint rug. Even though I have no idea when I'll be
able to get to it, it really caught my eye and I'd love to do it in
needlepoint. The...

Chocolate Addicts! by
Karen C - California
CHOCOLATE REHAB
People who say they are addicted to chocolate or pizza may not
be exaggerating, U.S.-based scientists said. A brain scan showed
that when they saw chocolate, their brains lit up like the
brains of cocaine addicts.

Just stitching by
Pirjo Ilvesvuori
Hi everyone!
Here I am. Last night I had some difficulties to have sleep.
So I went into livingroom. There I sat in the soft chair and
stitched one certain Red Roses (my own name, the official is
unknown) - pillow all night. When the time was right, sleep
came and I went to bed and was out like a...
