I guess "60 Minutes II" has its first kill. by
Rick & LeeAnn
I'm beginning to feel that it isn't "politcally correct" to be more
concerned about the AMERICAN civillian killed in Iraq than about the
"feelings" of a few prisoners.

the cicada report by
Susan Hartman/Dirty Linen
Well, we're into week 2 of cicadas, and they are deafening. Really. I
went for a long walk yesterday...started out in the rain and the cicadas
were quiet, but soon as the rain stopped and the sun came out, they went
back to making a racket. When I returned home (35 or so minutes later)
it took...

Unsorted floss in kits/packs by
Linda Wright
I agree with those who hate unsorted floss - and it doesn't even have
to be much! I ordered a very expensive (for me) Thea Dueck chart and
thread pack. The threads are beautiful, some of them I had never even
heard of before. But some of the colors/new to me threads are very
close and difficult...

Origin of Aida. by
F.James Cripwell
Many years ago I saw an alleged story of how aida came to be used in
counted cross stitch. I am sure I have embellished it by trying to
remember what I first read, but here goes. Aida was invented a long time
ago, and had the name, IIRC, Java cloth. There was a man whose wife just
loved to...

can do both at www.kims-stitchingshop.com. Look under the "Fantasy Threads"
headline for the new ones.

Silk ribbon embroidery question by
Laury Walkey
I have some nice overdyed silk ribbon in an accestory pack for a project
I just bought and as it was loosely wound and sort of crammed in a
plastic bag, the ribbon is wrinkled and creased. I wondered if I should
be ironing it before I work with it or leave it as is for a crinkly,
'natural'...

bucilla kit and hoops on ebay by
Kim McAnnally
Ah-ha! I use earthlink to access rctn and it was giving me fits for a
while - they changed servers or something. Anyway, I was trying to post
about this and asked Karen Campbell to post it for me. So forgive me if it
shows up twice!
I had a set of two hoops on ebay but they never got any bids and...

Does anyone know about 'zip its'? by
Linda D.
I've been searching like crazy on the web, but can't find what
I'm looking for. I recall there being a kit of some sort that was
called a 'zip it'. I think it was x-stitched then sewn together to
make a 3 dimensional case that one could use for make-up or whatever.
IIRC, it started with two...

A problem with some old needlework by
StipeRulez
I recently got a needlework piece by Bucilla from their Gallery of Stitches
line called "Roses." I believe it's from 1992. It's been partially finished
but I have noticed some mistakes on it that I would like to correct. The only
problem is that I don't believe there is enough yarn to do so. ...

Copyright Question OT by

Ok, this is off topic, but you guys know EVERYTHING. Can a person copyright
their name? I know you can copyright your likeness (like Elvis), but you can't
keep other people from using your name (well unless it's to commit fraud). Here
is the scenario: I'm in a club that races R/C cars, we want to...

Barbara Baatz by
Helen
In the newest Stitchery catalog a Grandchildren kit is shown. This is
a Barbara Baatz design and I'd like to find the chart. The kit is
done with aida and there's too much empty space for me to use aida for
the design. I'd like to do this for my sis in honor of her NINE
grandkids.
