hug quilt found! by
Marijke
Don't know how, don't know why...don't know where the quilt has been but it
mysteriously showed up out of nowhere.
Must have been all the good thoughts sent by friendly quilters. ;-))))
and... she loves it. Absolutely loves it.

photo, Golden retriever wall hanging by
Marijke
Some people told me back in January that they wanted to see the
wallhanging I made after Rox died so I finally have a photo of it in my
photo album. It's the first in Rox's album at http://photos.yahoo.com/sesesi
I think it turned out very well.

my sewing machine is sick by
Marijke
Sigh.
Iris is about 11 months old and due for her check up anyway, but she's
sounding like a machine gun now, not a sewing machine.
How will I manage without her around for a few days? Please assure me that
it will only be a few days?
I can't bring her in to the sewing machine hospital until...

ot, new QI soon ;-) by
Marijke
Back in January, many of you were so very kind when we lost our
beloved golden retriever, Rox, to cancer. He was nine years old and we were
so very lucky to have had him in our lives for the past 7 years.
It was a very tough loss as those of you who have had pets well know.
This loss was made...

quilting border hint by
Marijke
Most of you probably already have known this for a while but for some of the
newer quilters, I thought this might be helpful. I just showed someone how
to quilt a border and she was pretty surprised at how to get close to the
edges.
First, for my 18" hoop, I have a cap that I had made that fits...

happy, HAPPY dance... by
Marijke
My double wedding ring quilt, for hubby's niece... is done!
Paper pieced arcs (McCall's pattern) and the rest is hand pieced and it's
all hand quilted. It's about queen size with the border on it.
Photos at http://photos.yahoo.com/sesesi in the DWR section.

today's project (photo too) by
Marijke
Woohoo... started and finished a wallhanging.
Our friends who are taking dd to Europe this summer have a schnauzer so I
made them a wallhanging to thank them. It's in the wallhanging section of my
photoalbum at http://photos.yahoo.com/sesesi, if you'd like to see it.

fabric with greyhounds? by
Marijke
Has anyone here seen fabric with greyhounds on it?
I'm making greyhound coats which are selling well, but I'd like to be able
to offer quilts with greyhounds as well.
Any tips would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Marijke

I love, love, love my new hoop by
Marijke
For years, I've been alternating between my Wonderhoop (18"), my small qsnap
frame and my big qsnap floor frame.
Last month, I spluged and bought the Grace Hoop 2 Polymer Frame, 24" and I
LOOOOOOVE it.
It's so easy to use. You just stick your quilt on and then quilt as far as
you can reach....

Wow. very nice surprise in the mail today. Some kind soul, who put no
identifying info on the envelope, sent me a box of press and seal and an FQ.
Thanks so much, whoever you are!

attempting something new by
Marijke
I'm doing something I've never tried before. I'm making an art quilt using a
fusible web to hold everything down.
So far, everything is working like a charm and I'm very pleased with how
it's going - I have about a quarter of it done so far.
Now, my questions. One, will this wallhanging be...

fabric from Egypt by
Marijke
sound yummy? ;-)
A friend of mine is going to Egypt in January and has asked if she buys
fabric there, if I will make her a quilt. She'll pay me for my time, plus -
I get to keep leftovers. So, I'm figuring a baby quilt would do.... ;-)
Seriously now.... she asked if I only work with 100%...

OT another QI goes to Rainbow Bridge by
Marijke
A beautiful golden retriever came to live with us 7 years ago. He was 2 yrs
old at the time when his family decided they didn't want him any more.
We had 7 wonderful years with him. He never did anything to make us upset -
annoyed from time to time, but never upset. He was such a good dog. So...

just received a wonderful gift! by
Marijke
I have just been the VERY lucky recipient of 20 fqs of fabric, the Oriental
Collection from Keepsake. To say I'm grinning would be an understatement.
While this is something I'd never buy, it doesn't mean I don't love it! I do
love them and I gasped when I opened the package. The colours are...

speaking of commission quilts by
Marijke
I posted a while back that someone I knew was going to Egypt and would be
bringing back fabrics for me to make her a quilt. We've decided on a pattern
and she will be providing all the materials meaning fabric, thread and
batting. There will be few machine embroidered designs and she has...

happy dance! by
Marijke
My DWR is pieced. I finished the last piece this morning. My fingers are raw
(hand piecing) but I'm happy!
I'm just going to put a 4 inch white border all around as it is not quite
large enough for my tastes. I don't know if my husband's niece will have a
double or queen sized bed, but the extra...

oh no...sharpey smudge on thread to fabric by
Marijke
Please tell me there is a way to take off black sharpey smudge off white
fabric?
I drew a design with sharpey and let it dry thoroughly, but the white thread
still caught some ink, and is now on the white fabric (in the pin holes,
specifically).
Can I get this out?

DWR solution by
Marijke
If you read about my saga and the smudged sharpey... I took the block out
and am in the midst of sewing in a new one. I figured that it would always
bother me and I'd be bound to point it out to the bride so... this way, it's
outta there for sure.
Thanks for all the help,
Marijke

hello again by
Marijke
wow, it seems ages since I've popped in here. I miss my quilting fix.
I've been busy but I wanted to report to those who were following the
progress of my double wedding ring quilt. I made it for my husband's niece
who got married at the beginning of the month.
She absolutely loved it. And, she...
