Has anyone any experience with Darvin 7... by
Rusty n Red
....in mixing lowfire slip. I've been having trouble getting sodium silicate
from my supplier, and they've set me up with Darvin 7 as a replacement. Not
sure how much to use on proportion to using sodium silicate. Any
suggestions?
Thanx,

Has anyone tried using the recipe for the cone6 oxidation red glaze (goes by
many names but is essentially the following recipe) that uses a frit rather
than gerstley? If so, are you happy with it? I haven't run out of gerstley
yet but I keep on planning to wean myself away from it and this is...

TS or Axner? by

Ok, now that I've got a few places to begin comparing prices, I should
probably finally settle on what wheel I should get. I'm leaning towards
the Thomas Stuart Classic with SX Drive upgrade, though the Axner Super
Pro M-600 and M-900 would keep my wallet a tad fatter. What kind of

internet buying by
[email protected]
I'm trying to get back into pottery after 6 or 7 years, and I need to
buy a wheel and other supplies. I live in a small, Mid-Western U.S.
town, and the nearest pottery supply store is more than 150 miles away.
I'm not much of an out-of-town traveler. Does anybody know of any good
internet suppliers...
