moths!! by
rmg
Greetings.
Moths have eaten holes in a couple of my best articles of clothing. I've
taken steps to eradicate them, stored my clothes more properly, and such.
At this point I'm hoping to be able to repair a hole in a wool scarf and a
pair of pants. I was reading about "reweaving" and was wondering...

Cloth Nativity Set by
[email protected]
I am looking for a pattern for a cloth nativity set. I recently saw
the cutest cloth nativity set. However, the owner had misplaced the
pattern and could not remember who the maker of the pattern was. She
made them either in the late 70s or the 80s. These figures were about
8-10 inches in...

Triesha
Hi ~
My Mom received a nice rolling cart for her Bernette this Christmas,
but unfortunately it doesn't fit! I've been trying to find sources of
rolling carts for sewing machines and haven't found much. She
preferably needs a top loading cart. Thanks for any assistance!
Best Regards

fabric scraps for charity by
Dawn
All,
I have a pile of cotton and cotton blend fabrics suitable for quilting
or small crafts projects that I would be willing to send to someone for
the cost of postage. These are leftovers from my own projects and the
reality is that I will never use it for anything else. All clean,
smoke-free,...

Valkyrie
I am putting together some sewing boxes for a few of the 20-30 somethings on
my list. It seems there's always talk among my sons group that finding a
needle to sew on a button or make a quick fix is a problem. I have some of
those little metal lunch boxes and I'm going to put the stuff in those....

Ad Hoc Sewing Tools by
joy beeson
(We've had this thread before, but I wasn't organized.)
We all have indispensable sewing tools that the makers never
intended for sewing. Here's some of mine:
Draftsman's tools, particularly a very large 45-degree
triangle
A transparent plastic word-processing ruler

I'm sorry if these sound like dumb questions but I'm an old man. :-)
What kind of thread should I use to sew buttons on a silk shirt?
What kind of thread should I use to hem up silk pajama legs with a

Your help will be appreciated.
