RCTQ meet-up! by
Sandy Foster
Thanks to Diana's rather strong suggestion, Lisa Caryl contacted me when
she and her DH were about to arrive in my area. G They were only here
for a few days, and I was busy with seasonal stuff for a couple of
those, but we managed to clear our calendars for yesterday morning and
met at a LQS not...

Need a good deed to do? by
Marcella Peek
A few years back the soldiers under my brother in law were in Bosnia
over Christmas. To keep them busy and distracted from being homesick,
they were sent to visit an orphanage. My sister asked me to ask you all
to send quilts so the soldiers had something to give the children. Many
of you...

Sort of OT - busted ruler, what glue? by
Cappy
Hi there!
This is for all of the chemical engineers in our group... grin
I have now two busted rulers. They are the lime green plastic w/ the lines
laser-cut in to them. Nice clean breaks. I can fit the pieces back together
and it feels like they've never been apart. Until I lay them down...

Super easy lap quilor baby qulit by
She in PA
NO MEASURING OR PINNING. You need flannel and polar fleece. The flannel will
be narrower then the polar fleece. Cut your flannel to the size you want the
quilt. Make sure you square it up. Lay your flannel on top of your polar
fleece and cut it around 2" bigger then you fleece. Take your fleece...

OT - males and star wars by
frood
Miss Fussy Rose was telling us at dinner about 2 of her male classmates who
had been discussing Star Wars during recess. (MFR is quite enamored of one
of the boys - he is a frequent topic of conversation) DH countered with...
"I was just thinking about SW this morning...." which got me...

Castle in the Air by
NightMist
I am taking a break from my doodle pad to ask opinions.
A young person of my aquaintance needs a quilt.
Since he is a huge Studio Ghibli fan I am doodling Castle in the Air
blocks.
brief explanation: Draw a nine patch and divide it up as for a Card
Trick block except for the middle square. Make...

She in PA
I made it back! I was lost in Computer space. Royce is lost out there now. I
found out I had to reset my list to get you guys back. I thought I had lost
you guys for ever. That would have been terrible. Royce is trying it now. We
hope to get her back.

Well I had to do the dreaded grocery shopping over the weekend and our
local grocery store had a giving tree for Seniors this year.
I normally grab a child one from our local GS office but I am not
working there this year, so I thought 'What the heck? It'll be nice
doing something for a different...

Fabric Covered Glass Plates by
Pauline
Okay - it's borderline off topic . . . I bought one of these at a Xmas
boutique the other day & they seem like they'd be pretty easy to make. I
know there is a quilt shop quite a distance from me that offers a class, but
it's a bit of a drive. Does anyone know how to make these? It seems like
it...

sewing machine advice by
Denise in NH
I got my Janome 6500 last year for about $1,000 and I love it. It has
the larger harp area, needle down, knee lift, self threading, acrylic
table, etc. It has some decorative stitches that I'm finally getting to
use since I have a new baby niece in town. I've never regretted buying
it.

I got a surprise secret squish in my mailbox today (timing couldn't
have been much better -- I'm SNOWED in -- am surprised the postal
person made it up the drive to deliver the mail -- I *did* shovel the
walk this afternoon so I *tried* to make it easier for him)
Beautiful stars and palm trees --...
