Contenti web site? by Peter W.. Rowe,
After Abrasha posted a link to Contenti's web site, for LOS if I recall, I clicked his link just to verify it, and was surprised to find the site unavailable, at least to me, with firefox unable to find the server. An email to them got a reply that as far as they know, their site is up and...

casting investment by Charlie Leo
I've been casting (as an amateur) for at least 20 years. I may have 'missed' 6 or 7 castings in the last 5 years - not bad for a non- professional. However, I don't know exactly what goes on during the last part of the burn out cycle. I use steam to dewax the molds, then use a 300 degree F. in...

PMC or ART Clay Silver by [email protected]
What's up with this stuff? I can understand that it can be a bit on the expensive side but what's the big secret? Why all the hoopla about being "cerrtified" at a cost of $500!! And then on top of that they want you to buy $12K a year just to get 50% off the retail price.

The previous thread on soldering silver plate made me wonder about soldering gold filled wire or sheet (rolled gold). The gold would be thicker than plate. -- Connie Ryman Cryman Studio

Alpaca Silver by [email protected]
Greetings... I see a lot of Peruvian jewelry around made with "alpaca silver". It claims to be an alloy of a few metals to include nickel. It also claims not to tarnish. Is this a good material? I wonder how many people are allergic to nickel? Thanks.

Your opinions on this by m4816k
What jewellery is appropriate for everyday wear? Some say that, in terms of metal, it shouldn't be heavy because of comfort and practical reasons, but also not light cause it might be too sensitive and break often. Some even say that it should be limited to chains, pendants, necklaces and...

I've been wanting to make some silver discs with some printed words on them (peace, etc.) but I'm not sure which metal stamps to buy. They range anywhere from $16.00 a set to $300.00 a set. Anyone know of a good company to buy from? Thanks

Buying Diamond Jewelry: Know What To Look For by tyo
In judging diamond jewelry it is a common occurrence to get a diamonds shape and the cut mixed up. The cut of a diamond describes the performance of light, dimensions, and finish. Shape is just the outline of the diamond from a top view. In judging diamond jewelry you must make sure there is a good...
