Jewelry making items by
Trish
Hello, I have some old jewelry making supplies that we have had for
about 20 years now. They are new, never used, just been in storage.
Anyone interested? Also have jasper and agate cabs available to make
jewelry items with. Thank you.

Casting and mold making in the Bay Area by
cheyenne weil
I live in San Francisco and am thinking of having Sierra Pacific
Casting Inc. cast some pieces for me--I just found them on the web but
they seem to have good prices and have been very friendly in answering
my questions. However, while they can make molds of metal pieces and
wax (cold RTV mold), I...

rings on the finger--significance? man needeth help by
Robert Shaw
Hi there folks,
If a woman has a ring on her ring finger that is clearly not an
engagement or a wedding ring (no rock--just sort of an ornamental
looking thing), does it indicate that she's in a relationship? thanks,
Robert

Hallmarking by
GOOSEY
If I buy, say an unhallmarked band of gold, do stupendously brilliant and
gorgeous things with gemstones etc., and make an article worthy of Hatton
Garden. How much does it cost to get it hallmarked, or do I have to be an
affiliated member of a jewellery organisation to do this? I know its...

Hello,
I am living in Germany and the size for a ring is given in millimeters.

Rouge supply in NY? by
Ben Snyder
Hi folks
I'm looking for a jewelry supply store on Long Island, NY or even in
Manhattan.
I'm looking for a very fine grit rouge or 'the green stuff' to polish some
silver, as well as some light abrasive to remove some scratches and some
excess solder (jeweler did it, not me :-) )
Failing that,...

I was looking at a book on royal jewels from around the world, and noticed
some striking pieces from India, set with many uncut but polished diamonds.
Then while searching the web, I found this place

with uncut diamonds. My...

"Scratch Resistant"? by
Darren Harris
Can anyone advise me on how to know whether a scratch resistant bezel
is really scratch resistant.
The last several watches I picked up that were supposed to have
"scratch resistant" bezels turn out to scratch as easily as any other
watch.
Evidently the term "scratch resistant" means very...

Seiko watch question? by
Marge36
We replaced the battery in a men's Seiko watch and in so doing tore the gasket
that went around the back. It is working well, but we would like to replace
the gasket and, if possible, insure it is as waterproof as possible (short of
sending it back to the factory.) Can anyone tell me where we...

"Gunk" Under Prongs in Engagement Ring by
sbright
Sounds like dirt (to be honest). A good soak in the ultrasonic followed by
a little steaming should fix it.
There really isn't any reason for solder to be in that spot since the head
gets solder on first and then the seats get cut. If there was solder there
the bur (seat cutter) would have cut...
