Looking for a Shrug Pattern by
[email protected]
Hello
I havent posted here for awhile but I read the postings often. I wonder
if anyone could point me in the right direction to find a shrug pattern
on the internet. I saw one I liked in a book, but the book was too
expensive and I just liked the one pattern. It was knit, I think, and
was made...

OT - Gone for the day.... or two by
MRH
My back was aching last night when I went to bed, and it woke me up often
throughout the night (lower spine... at the waist area where one of the
degenerative disks is), and it feels downright horrible today. So I am off
to try to find a comfortable way to rest my back for the day. The way...

pocket pals by
Linda [email protected]
Good Afternoon,
I was wondering if anyone knew of a web site that had a free pattern
for Pocket Pals. My Mom is interested in knitting some of these for
charity and I haven't been able to find a site with a pattern.
thanks...Linda in B.C., Canada

Weight of Yarn by
Dianne Lewandowski
An individual wrote to me and is trying to replicate an afghan pattern
from the late 60s early 1970s. The suggested yarn was Bernat's
"Germantown" weight. Does anyone here know of this yarn and what could
be substituted?
Thank you so much.

Demo at school by
Wooly
I'm giving a spinning demo at my son's school this afternoon. The
teacher initially thought I could teach 20-odd kids how to spin or
knit during the course of my allotted one hour demo period! I
convinced her otherwise and now I'm doing the spinning demo plus
helping hte kids set up a KoolAde dye...

Another "lost Lamb" by
Olwyn Mary
Not really lost, just silent. I've been having some minor health
setbacks, but then the doctors warned me it would probably take up to a
year to recover fully from last year's pneumonia, so I'm not too
worried, more frustrated. Also having some computer problems - I need a
geek!!! Unfortunately,...

Knifty Knitter by
Padishar Creel
I was recently at a yarn event at a local yarn shop and I won a Knifty
Knitter II in a raffle. I was going to donate it to my wife's school
but tonight I was looking over some scrap yarn and decided to give it a
try while watching my favorite baseball team.
Anyway, the hat I made turned out great!...

Stahman Shawls and Seamen's Scarves by
Wooly
For those of you who want but have not yet obtained a copy of Myrna
Stahman's peerless tome on method construction of Faeroese shawls with
matching "seamen's scarves" you might want to get while the getting is
good.
My copy (ex libris and decidedly on its last legs) literally
disintegrated on me...

Size 17 - 29" Circular Knitting Needle Recommendation by
Padishar Creel
None, of my local shops have this needle is stock and the websites I
have visited do NOT have a picture of this needle (in plastic handles
only) from Susan Bates. I have a Denise Needle set but it stops at 15.
Any suggestions? I hate some of the circular needles stiff cables so I
would like to...

FO: Hats from Vintage Patterns by
hesira
Hey Guys,
A while back I posted about my windfall of a bunch of vintage pattern
books. Well just to test out a pattern or two I made the boys a couple
of hats from a Columbia Minerva Beehive pattern book from the 40's. I
used Patons Classic Merino. Wanna...

My Current Skill Levels by
Padishar Creel
I got to thinking about how am I doing at crocheting, tunisian, and
knitting. The reason I bring it up is that I have progressed a great
deal since joining this ng (thanks to your kind help). So I sat down
and decided that I would assess my skill levels in all three of the
needlecrafts I...

Carrying on the family tradition by
Jeanette
My twelve year old neice has finally, after several false starts, got the
hang of knitting. At last I've got someone I can offload bits of yarn and
spare needles too. Has anyone else been trying to pass the baton / needles
on to the next generation?

Can anybody use by
Wooly
A "yarn guide"? It's one of those thimble things with pegs and a
snap-cover, presumably designed to keep pesky yarn under control when
doing one-handed colorwork. I found it to be more hassle than
otherwise, but you may be of a different opinion.
Send me a couple of stamps and it's...
