hemming a lined skirt/dress by
Siptah
I've finished, except for hemming a dress for one of my daughters. (New Look
(by Simplicity), pattern 6741, view B). The bodice is lined but the skirt
portion was not. I cut a muslin liner (basically just repeated all the skirt
steps) and attached the lining to the bodice to hide the seams....

Old dresses and clothes by

Is anybody here into the making of old dresses and other clothes?
Maybe another forum than r.c.t.sewing would be appropriate? My
daughter is impressively interested in clothes all way from the middle
age up to the WWII. She is, unfortenately, not very found of sewing
machines, and would more like...

I was fiddling tonight with a sheet of plain ole' notebook paper,
cutting out a pattern for a couple of flared dart inserts (gussets in
another langwedge), when I got to thinkin'. (It's a dangerous thing,
thinkin' is.)
What I was thinkin':

How much to charge? by
Lori Reynolds
Hi there -- I've been asked by our local ballet (at which my 10 year old
daughter is a student) to make some costumes. I've had lots of experience
making things for my own family's use, but have never charged anyone a fee,
so I don't know what I'm worth, so to speak.
I'd love to have some input...

Does anyone know of a website that explains how to shorten the crotch on a

tried raising it, but have had no success, and I tried raising the waistband
and lengthening the legs but this only works with really simple pants. ...

Need Source for sturdy Diaper Pins by

Hello,
I am looking for a source of for sturdy diaper pins. It seems that they have
gone into hiding. I can find flimsy safety pins, but what I am looking for
is the pins that we used to buy with the plastic heads.

Does anyone have a pattern or directions for making micro mitts?

I've studied the construction of my existing pair but it would sure
help my confidence if I had a pattern!
What type of fabric can be used in...
