turkey dinner at one of the daughter's houses this afternoon! I'm on desert
detail. So for this year we have apple pie, pumpkin cheesecake, and sex in
the pan. Should be varied...

My mother called me this morning to tell me that she found an old quilt in
with my grandmother's things. (the grandmother that left this world last
month)
My mother said that she thinks the quilt was made by my grandmother's mother
or grandmother. The pattern is lone star, and I'm waiting to see...

hug for manager? by
Irrational Number
My manager, Jackie, is someone I've known
for many years, but I do not know her well
at all. She's based in a different state
than I, but I've always liked and respected
her. She got diagnosed with breast cancer
a month ago and had an operation two weeks
ago. She now needs chemo and...

double ended pins by
Boca Jan
I saw someone using pins that had two sharp ends, made especially for
holding open a seam. Has anyone used these? Do you know where I could get
some?

A fun afternoon by
Julia in MN
This afternoon we drove up to see the grandkids. I took along my
handsewing kit because DGS (age 6) wanted the patches (pack number,
etc.) sewn on his Cub Scout shirt. On a whim, I also took along a
ziplock bag full of assorted 4" squares of fabric. Of course, DGS and
DGD (almost 4 years old)...

I don't post often, but I thought you all might like to know what
I've gone and done. I was following the thread on the S@S design, and
followed a link to view some. Beautiful, and I've wanted to do one for
a while. I went to the link to get coloring pages for S@S, printed many
8x11 pages, and...

Labels for UFOs by
René
I'm finally in the process of getting some UFOs finished. I started two
quilts in ... ahem .... the 1980s. They were stored away and have now found
their way into my sewing area. One is a queen sized, originally designed,
and pieced quilt for my DD. She had her color and pattern...

A couple of weeks ago I asked for help to get a magazine
sent over to Oz and a kind rctq'er helped out. Well, look
what arrived with the magazine today. Dovetail joins, a
thimble stand, an embedded magnet to hold needles, a slot
for scissors, another hole that just fits my threader nicely...
