OT Gingerbread Technology by
NightMist
OK I am at least a gingerbread demi-goddess.
I have been making gingerbread houses and accessories for some time.
DD#1 has decided to give it a go for the first time this year.
Even though she has turned her nose up at my dearly beloved
gingerbread goths, I have agreed to assist her.
Thing is, DH...

bag holders by
Keith Pope
Looking for a pattern or instructions for those plastic bag holders. You all
must know what I'm talking about. You know, they have opening at the top and
bottom and you stuff your plastic bags into them.
Anyone know where I can find directions for this?
Thanks in advance

Happy Day by
Bonnie
The new leg for my red-eye arrived today! It is now set up
and the wheel is spinning. So far I've adjusted the tension
and the stitch length - she's ready to go. 'Tis good!

More on a Hug for Mel by
Jalynne
I didn't want to mention this before, but there was more to Mel's hug than she
realized. There were two blocks that came late, and they had to somehow find their
way to Mel. I decided to make cushion covers out of them, so now she has a place to
lay her head while wrapped up in her hug.
As...

Hanne Gottliebsen
Finally!
Here is the link to a page with the pics of the old quilts I've been
raving about.
Now, before you go the I don't have time right now to make a fancy
page, so there is just a brief description and a bunch of links to the
actual pictures. And those are big (I don't have an easy way to...

OT - It's my birthday! by
Johanna Gibson
And I'm single again!
Well according to the rules of Russian grammar I am. Since 31 ends
in a "one" I have to describe myself as "31 year".
We had an exam this morning, and some bloke next door drilled into
the wall during the entire hour. How good is that for a start to your
special day? Then I...

Half a happy dance by
Sandy Foster
The quilt circle I attend here recently had a block exchange with a
Christmas theme, and I finished my top! Of course, it isn't quilted yet,
and it's not likely to be in time for Christmas; but at least the blocks
are all connected now. ;) You can see it at the bottom of...

OT - best all-round sewing book for a beginner? by
Johanna Gibson
Hello friends,
My friend Liza, in Washington DC (originally from Russia) just
recently bought a sewing machine with 45 built-in stitches. She
especially wants to make slip covers for the couch and chairs, but
also wants to learn about sewing in general.
What book would you recommend for her? Her...

Using up batting scraps! by
Johanna Gibson
This is actually on topic!
Last summer, I received a little bundle of batting samples from some
online shop - I think it might have been Hancock's of Paducah.
Anyway, they're only about 3" x 5" so it's been a bit difficult to
use them up. I just realized that a project I'm going to make will...
