OT Apple Uside Down Gingerbread by NightMist
Everybody loves this. The only tricky bit is getting the heat set right for the apples in the first part. Apple Upside Down Gingerbread about 4 big tart apples 3/4 cup of brown sugar mixed with 1 teaspoon cinnamon 2-3 tablespoons of butter (not shortening)

The Lost is Found by Donna[_7_]
I found the name tags while looking for something else. I very carefully put them away in one of the drawers in my set of plastic drawers. Now why I put them there and thought they would be easily found I have no idea. There is nothing in that drawer remotely connected to Project Linus or name...

"traditional" Thanksgiving dinner by Susan Laity Price
Several years ago we were hosts to a visiting Chinese student during Thanksgiving. She was familiar with the first Thanksgiving in the colonies. As we were passing food around the Thanksgiving table I explained the symbolism of each dish until I got to the Green Bean Casserole. How does one explain...

OT Wonderful news by Bobbie Sews More
My DH has a 2nd surgery this past Tuesday to remove a cancer growth from his leg. Our doctor called at 8:00 last night to let us know he had gotten the lab report and ALL the cancer had been removed! In addition, my lab showed my diabetic numbers are down! So I call our son and he said HIS...

Happy day after by AllisonH
For those who celebrated thanksgiving yesterday here is an offering from one of my favorite cartoonists: http://www.rhymeswithorange.com/wordpress/strips/Rhymes_with_Orange.20111125_large.gif I must admit...leftovers are one of the best parts of a big meal. Allison

OT Gingerbread by NightMist
OK, I find I have more "standard" gingerbread recipes than I thought. It depends on what I have to work with. I suppose I never thought about it, however it seems my household has been paying a LOT more attention to the matter than I ever imagined! I scrounged up my notebooks to dig out my...

OT I need a deployed by Polly Esther[_5_]
Our own near and dear in the military are all back in the states this Christmas season. Praise God. I want someone to send pralines to overseas and it's getting to be time to cook and get them shipped. Do any of you have a deployed kin that would enjoy (and maybe even share) candy from...

Christmas shopping, anyone? by Polly Esther[_5_]
I can get this on topic but I'm going to wander off since it's astounding and delightful the hefty range of knowledge here. If you want to save postage and give yourself some nice fabric, Arizona Quilts is holding the Polly Esther 2011 record for stuffing the most in a 'if it fits, it ships'...

"Come, little leaves..." by Sandy E
Come, Little Leaves by George Cooper "Come, little leaves," said the wind one day. "Come over the meadows with me and play; Put on your dresses of red and gold, For summer is gone and the days grow cold Soon as the leaves heard the wind's loud call, Down they came fluttering, one and all;

For Canadian Quilters by Kim Graham[_2_]
I've finally hit the point of no return with Fabricland....here's their reply to my letter complaining about their new procedures. Their reply boils down to "yes, we think all our customers are potential thieves!" From: Fabricland Members Sent: Thursday, December 01, 2011 7:57 AM To: Kim...

This stinks by Polly Esther[_5_]
I want you to see what I'm quilting. We want to know what you're quilting. There was a skunk print here that was so precious I had to just 'make' me cut into it. I've framed the blocks in gray and then black only because those were the winners on the design wall. That sounds much too serious...

Don't want to open another can of worms.... by Sherry
Another thought about Facebook. My friend list got out of control. So, it's like you are in a cozy room with my great-aunt, my sister, my pastor's wife, my kids, friends from my wild and crazy 20's, plus all the crazy cat ladies that I know from my days on the Board of the Humane Society. It's like...

Christmas clear-out! by Sandy E
Howdy! At Hobby Lobby, they're clearing out the Christmas gear. All the decorations, the doo-dads & gee-gaws, the fancy décor, the country clutter, the shiny bits & bobs, the ornaments & trees & dishes & garlands - if it says "Christmas", it's OUT'a here! Disappointing, but not surprising. 50%...
