Charlotte Hippen
I worked last week diligently to finish the baby blanket I was crocheting
and got it finished up on Fri. Yea!!! I spend some time Sat. and almost
all day yesterday sewing. I was working on the baby's bedding set that
coordinates with the quilt I was working on. Well, I managed to...

Harry Potter books. At my "great grandmother" phase in life, I can't tell
you how much I am enjoying them. I may have to at least read them twice.
They have so many precious little wittys like Diagon Ally. I went...

printer Log Cabin 6" block diagram with numbers by
Neeej
Oooh! What kind of printer?
HP laserjet 2300d. The d means it also duplexes (& costs more!!)---zoomed out a
bunch of 2-sided sheets yesterday in jig time (it spits 'em partway out, then
sucks 'em back in to print the 2nd side---fun to watch for simple minds like
mine G)

'Hypothetical' (blush) question by
Lynn Tocker
Happy Sunday all,
Just suppose (gulp!) someone bought a fat quarter instead of a 1/4 metre of
fabric, would she be OK cutting down the length instead of across the width?
She knows (halelluiah!) that there is a difference in the amount of 'give'
in a lengthwise cut, but in a state of blissful...

Help with quilt block name origins by
Meme Greathouse
Hi ya'll,
I have been a quilter for about 7 years now and occasionally read the
posts on this news group. Recently I started doing some volunteer work
for the local historical association. I have been asked to come up with
some activities for the children's room, especially something with
quilts....

How to thread a treadle by
Joe and Maria
I was recently given a 1917 White treadle sewing machine. I have called
White twice to get a copy of the instruction manual. Both times they sent
me instructions for an electric machine. I was wondering if anyone could
give me a hint as to how to thread the machine or any information on how...

ON topic: permanent markers by
Polly Esther
I was just "reading back" a few days. I noticed that Jo discovered that some
of her permanent markers are not permanent, even when heat set. It had never
crossed my mind (I admit the mind is limited, has lots of mileage and easily
distracted) that permanent was a maybe, maybe not.
Maybe we had...

Motivation, Decisions, Procrastination by
Pat in Virginia
A few weeks ago I came here and whined about being unproductive.
I thought this was lack of motivation. Several of us then had a
nice thread talking about getting things done, not forgetting
this is recreation, and so on. Since then I've mulled this over.
I even took a few UFO's to my small quilt...
