I don't remember who the lovely lady was who told me about by
Phyllis Nilsson
tacking a quilt instead of tying one, but I wanted to really, really thank
her. I just finished the binding on a quilt I tacked instead of tied and it
turned out very nicely. Even my husband (who watches quilt shows even when
I'm not home or in the room) thought it looked very good. It...

I think perhaps you did not fill out the directory form, do you know? Okay
everyone. Get out your calendars. The Directory form will be open again in

block help needed by
Debbi in SO CA
Hi everyone,
I was at the LQS working on the wounded warrior quilts yesterday. In the
room was this great tumbling block quilt with Ohio Stars on the blocks.
Unfortunately it was up to show the fabrics for the pickle dying class
and not for that quilt or else I would have immediately signed up...

Quilt-As-You-Go by
Nancy in NS
Can anyone recommend a good site that explains the
quilt-as-you-go method? I've found a few sites online, but
no matter how many times I read the explanations through, I
don't get it. :-/ Thanks in advance to anyone who might
have a good site bookmarked!

Historical reference needed for Strippy Quilts by
Susan Laity Price
Google search has let me down this evening. I need a historical
reference for the Strippy Quilt trend that was popular in the early
19th Century. Several years ago this type quilt was talked about a lot
but I can't find a good historical reference. I did learn that Strippy
Quilts were made in the...

Calling all designers - Lots o' questions by
TwinMom
I need your input here. I've been thinking of starting a pattern production
side line to augment the family income (which is pretty low as a SAHM). I
used to have a quite successful graphic design business (pre-kids) so I have
all the software tools, production experience, etc. My experiences as...

so steady progress is...

Directory is Done! by
AliceW
The 195 copies of the Directory have been sent. No emails have bounced so I
am assuming all 195 have made it through.
If you submitted a form for entry into the Directory and did not receive a
copy, please don't take it personally. We treasure all of our members and
not making it into the...

Need a hat? by
Polly Esther
Late, LATE last night I needed to check the resulting measurement with the
super trick where you put two squares right sides together, draw diagonal
lines across both ways and stitch on both sides of both lines. If anyone is
involved in the re-enactment of Washington crossing the Delaware, I...

their interest.
Here's what I'm planning. After sorting through my stash of fabric, I will
fill a shoebox sized box with bits and pieces I no longer want. I will then
mail it to the first person on the list. They will...

OT Wild Fires in Florida by
Bobbie Sews Moore
My town is OK, but there are wild fires about 40 minutes away from my town
in Central Florida. We have been able to smell the smoke the past 3 days.
According to the last news report, the fires are about a mile from the
closet housing development, and are in a forest.

OT Humour More English Language (only a little rude) by
CATS
Lovers of the English language might enjoy this.....How do
non-natives ever learn all the nuances of English???
There is a two-letter word that perhaps has more meanings
than any other two-letter word, and that word is "UP."

Malvern Quilt UK show by

Hi all, sorry if I've missed this already, but is there a plan for those
attending to meet up this year? I owe Pat a cup of coffee and a sticky
bun and am hoping to repay her at the show. I've been snowed under
recently at work and haven't been able to read the group for a while so
I may have...

graduation quilt label by
Polly Esther
Last night I finished stitching the label on our grandson's graduation
quilt. The label is precious - a copy of the invitation, his graduation
picture, a baby picture and one of him in his first cowboy suit and hat on
the biggest horse we ever saw.
The label begins, "stitched with love" and...
