OT - Good thoughts (again!) needed by
Sharon Harper
Just had a call from DH who is currently in Shenzhen in China. Apart from
having a dose of Bali Belly or the Thai Trots or China Chunders he was
nastily mugged by three of the locals as he finished some shopping and was
walking to find a cab to get back to the hotel. He's just spent half an
hour...

JoAnn's coupon in newspaper today by
Susan Laity Price
Included with all the flyers stuffed in the newspaper today was one
from JoAnn Fabrics. It had a 40% 0ff one item and 50% off one framing
job. It isn't too late to run out and buy a paper. Sorry I forgot to
post this notice when I read the paper at 5 a.m.

ON TOPIC: I just don't understand it... by
Debi Matlack
I was all day yesterday, making Double Irish Chain blocks for s co-workers
soon-to-be offspring. I measured everything carefully, cut carefully, since
I have an innate talent for thing not coming out the right size. Well, that
deeply ingrained talent asserted itself. The secondary blocks for in...

sewing table height by
Helen in MN
Is there a proper height for the sewing table to be? If I am sitting down
should my elbows be at a 90 degree angle? (I'm thinking my table is too
high).

My "new" treadle machine by

I've put some pictures of my "new" sewing machine up on webshots --
http://community.webshots.com/album/428344461SuSpMV
She was made in Elizabethtown, New Jersey in 1922 -- which makes her
older than my Mom! Since I named my Featherweight after my maternal GM,
(Laura), this one is named after my...

Viking Megaquilter and Imspira by
Dave Rutter
Hi everyone.
I see that Viking has come out with a "quilting machine" in the form
of the Megaquilter sewing machine and Inspira frame.
Has anyone had any experience with this duo and how is it working out
for you.
We are planning on purchasing one here shortly and were really
wondering how well...

Whining by
Marcella Peek
First I spent two weeks sick.
Then I felt well enough to sew only to discover that one of the blocks I
wanted to use was faded and didn't match the rest anymore.
Next I was sidetracked from quilting and spent my time hemming a wedding
dress.
Now, to top it off I dropped a hardcover cookbook on...

improved invisible thread by
Polly Esther
I am doing a hexagonal "I spy" scrappy sort of quilt. Doing all those inset
seams had always defeated me and I thought I would revisit. It is possible
to do strings of hexagons and then add them by hand to the main body.
Stitching strings with a newer version of invisible thread seemed like...

Advice on how to quilt this? by
FurrsomeFoursome
Hello all - I have been occasionally lurking and silent the last couple
of months... and of course not accomplishing as much I'd like in terms
of Quilt Production, but I am frantically back at it, and could use
some expert eyes to give me a nudge in the right direction.
Photos of my pinned quilt...
