top or bottom by
Gen
I know we've had this discussion numerous times, but since there are a lot
of newbies, I thought I'd open it up again. There are some that answer
posts by posting on top and others that wait and post at the bottom of
previous posts. Personally, I prefer posting on top, leaving enough of the...

Quilts of Valor by
Bobbie Sews More
Can anyone tell me how to get in touch with someone concerning making the
Quilts of Valor. I have a friend and maybe a small group of ladies who want
to make a few of these quilts. They need to know the size needed and other
information.
Thanks, Barbara in SC

Half inch binding by
[email protected]
I have always made my bindings a quarter inch, and I have decided that
the quilt I am working on should have a half inch binding.
Before I cut the binding fabric, I need to know the best way to attach
the binding.
My question is...when I stitch the binding to the quilt, do I line up
the edges of...

Last week I was working on a spiderman quilt and a 'sporty kids' baby
quilt - I finished both this weekend - well, at least the spiderman #2
quilt is finished! I ended up making a second spiderman quilt from
the panel that I had intended to use as backing for the original quilt
top and making a...

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr... Kids & Ginghers by
TwinMom
Oh I am just sooooo mad at my boys right now!!! I was doing some work in
their "area" just now and saw some black handled scissors sitting on their
work table. Laughing to myself, I tell myself not to be silly, that those
are just those cheap black handled "wanna be" scissors that I always think...

machine quilting questions by
Musicmaker
Have any of you owned and used the Flynn quilt frame? It sure looks
like a good idea for someone wanting portability, and lower cost.
Also, I've found a sewing machine that has a long arm and can stand
alone without a frame called Bailey's Home Quilter that I'm wondering
about. I mean - is it...

Zero detergent by
jennellh
Has anyone tried the new one? The ads demonstrate it with 2 bowls of
water containing red/green dyes - one bowl has the 'zero for all
colours' added and then 2 white polo necks are dunked - you can guess
the results! The zero-added water doesn't transfer the dyes to the
sweater while the other...

Another one bites the dust! :D by
Sandy
I finished the table runner for MIL yesterday! Yippee! This is to be a
Christmas gift for her (it will stop her from kidnapping my blue/yellow
table runner, I hope ;) ), but I wanted it finished in time for
Thursday, when I'll be teaching paper piecing to my quilt group. Whew!
The photo doesn't...

fusible for applique by
Taria
I have bought a BOM that I am going to do the buttonhole appliqué on.
Do I really need to wash the fabric before I use a fusible? When I
work from my stash everything is pre-washed so I never thought about it
before. I have some of the misty fuse here and they don't mention
prewashing. This...

Remember LN? by
Kathy Applebaum
For those who remember LN, she sends a big "Hi!" to everyone. She hasn't
been popping in because she hasn't been quilting, but life is good -- she
still loves her job and her two kids are growing like weeds (the oldest is
driving - gasp!).

how to reduce stash by
[email protected]
I know that most if not all of you would be more than willing to give
my extra fabric a home, but I am really in a pickle here. Last summer
I had an "episode" (we'll leave it at that, it's a *really* long
story) and ended up buying more fabric than I can use any time soon.
An example - one day I...

can get some pictures since I broke my digital camera, I'll have to

Yet another batting question by
Sunny[_2_]
I looked back through various batting threads but didn't find a direct
answer to my question:
What is a good batting if you want the quilt to be a warm "bed" quilt?
I know there are wool batts out there, but they are very expensive.
This isn't going to be an heirloom quilt, but it is very pretty...

May I recommend? by
Polly Esther
Well sure. How could you stop me?
I learned two new words this year. Blog and bling. I'm not
particularly interested in blog but bling is fun stuff. The newest fabric
here is so dazzling I just can't tear myself away from it. If you need a
white fabric for snow, snowmen or something...
