Last night, I started on my sister's Christmas present - a Nancy Coffelt canvas she picked out. It was great to just sit and get something accomplished - I got the hat and shirt done. I have not had nearly enough stitching time lately and this reminds me of why I do it. . . Just had to...

Borrow this from the library - lots of knot work and easily adaptable to needlework. I might try some of the lacing projects to make trim some time http://www.amazon.com/Compendium-Celtic-Crafts-Judy-Balchin/dp/184448355X C

Disasterous Times! by Fred
Hi Gang! I guess everyone has witnessed the tremendous drop in postings in this group and other groups. Not too long ago I used to download between 400 and 500 posts a day. I didn't read or respond to all the posts but they were at my ISP for the asking.

I'm still on my nativity set. I just finished the last shepherd and have started on one of the wisemen. Three wisemen and 2 camels to go! I'd really like to get the pieces I have stuffed and finished so I can display them this Christmas. Joan

Weird needles by Olwyn.Mary
Along with the lap frame I bought at the rummage sale, there was a paper of needles of a type I have not seen before. They are very heavy, 3.5 inches long and about the weight of a size 18 tapestry needle, with sharp points and with an eye which looks like a narrowed (or squished) letter...
