Princess Diana Sweater Patternsn by
Murielle
Hi!
Ages ago I offered to email these patterns to anyone who wanted them,
unfortunately there was a problem with one of the pages and then my scanner
broke down.
The good news is that my scanner is finally fixed, I've re-scanned the seven
pages of patterns and saved them as jpegs. So, if...

Fingerless mitts by
Linda D.
Hi everyone,
I've been knitting Fingerless mitts that have a thumb. I have to cast
on three stitches after setting aside stitches for the thumb, and the
pattern says to use a backwards loop cast on. I tried it, but got a
not very nice hole. I switched to a cable cast on, and it looks
better,...

Knitter's POLL by
The YarnWright
Curiousity query!!
Do you knit Continental/German or English/American?
Continental= hold yarn in left hand, and 'pick' your stitches....
English= hold yarn in right hand, and "throw".....

Crochet Socks by
Eastern Edge
Just popping in for a minute to ask, after all the discussion over knit
socks, if anyone's had any luck with crocheting socks? I've just
attempted my third pair and no matter how much I try, they don't turn
out. I have a pattern (and before you ask, yes, Nora, I DID follow it)
but only the very...

Moth help! by
Mary Fisher
Today I took out a shawl which a daughter knitted for me some years ago from
her own spun Hebridean black wool from the two Heb ewe lambs I gave her.
She'd chosen the stitch 'candlelight' because I made beeswax candles.
It had huge holes in it and it's unsalvageable.
Does anyone know of any...

Miss Marple knitting by
spampot
Has anyone seen the new Miss Marple TV series with Geraldine McEwan as
Jane Marple? I noticed that the titles to the series start with a ball
of yarn and knitting needles, and I just noticed tonight what and
interesting sweater she was wearing, a sort of oatmeal or beige cardigan
with crossover...

Red Heart Super Saver Yarn by
[email protected]
Hi Everyone,
Since Wooly and Noreen were talking about yarn and the weight, I
thought I would let you know what is happening with the Red Heart Super
Saver, it's being downsized too. A couple weeks ago I was at Walmarts
and picked up a skein of blueberry pie and one of plum pudding. I
thought the...

A Question of Yarn ... by
Murielle
Hi,
I have chosen a very simple pattern for a child's pullover. It's from
Pattons "Happy Days" #684. On page 12, called Up, Up, and Away. It calls
for Patons Astra, which I don't have and can't get, but I do have Wendy
Peter Pan four ply.
Will this work?
Sorry if it's a silly question. My...

Question on "Continental " and "English" knitting techniques by
SlinkyToy
Most people knit a different gauge with each hand. Nothing to worry about,
as long as you don't try to convince us that you ALWAYS knit to gauge with
the recommended needles and yarn :)

New Yarn - Bernat Lu Lu by
Make Up
I was at my local Walmart and saw a yarn by Bernat called Lu Lu. (Its
a very plush/fluffy yarn.) I thought I'd like to make a baby blanket
out of it for my local chapter of Project Linus so I searched for some
patterns that use this yarn. I can't find patterns nor is this yarn
mentioned anywhere....
