OT- Christmas Lights by
Sally Swindells
I see the Christmas Light Site is open again
http://www.planetchristmas.com/ShowingOff2005.htm
Some pretty, some completely OTT, but all fun to look at.
Glad I don't live near any - I like to look up and see the stars (and
I wouldn't like their electricity bill!).

OT - kinda sad - QI diagnosed with cancer.. by
FurrsomeFoursome
Sorry to vent, but it seems the online people in my life are the ones
who understand.
Panda ov Toes, Polydactyl Barn Cat Extraordinaire, current senior QI
and my online namesake, will have to be leaving us sooner rather than
later. What we hoped was "just" an infection from her dental work
about...

textile dying by
MB
I tried fab dyeing a few years ago and liked it...Did the "jelly jar'
method. But I never
got the truly rich colors that I'd like--mine seemed more like 'dark'
pastels.
....Does anyone here know how to get darker colors. ????
.... Guess I should digout my
books again..I do think I have two of...

Tell me, tell me by

Did you get to see Nancy Elliott MacDonald on Simply Quilts today? The
show's number is QLT-1135. Have you ever been in one of her classes? Do
you have her book "Winding Ways Quilts"? Do you have her templates and have
you used them? I thought it was a delightful show and I really enjoyed...

Answer for kittens scratching by
She in PA
Okay guys they make little rubber nails to glue on your kittens nails. Just
like we have acrylic nails. You only put them on their front paws. You get
40 in a pack and that will last 4 months. and they come in different colors.
Go and look . It is so funny. It is at www.softpaws.com they were...

For many of them just bonding two fabrics wrong sides together with iron-on
webbing (like what you call "Wonder Under" I think) is all you need.
We have been making chinese takeout boxes here this Christmas - to hold

Washing Iron-On Transfer by
Dannielle
Ok, I used my inkjet printer and some iron on transfer sheets to create
cute blocks of my baby girl for a WUH for DMIL. I would like to wash
this thing before I give it to her, and am curious of anyone else's
attempts at machine washing and drying before I ruin it completely! I
still have to...

one more hand quilting question. by
nzlstar*
what finger do you wear your thimble on?
i watched alex anderson on Simply Quilts and she uses it on her midde finger.
this leaves her index/pointer and thumb to start the stitching and pull the needle thru each time.
how do you do it?
cheers,
jeanne
stuff the garden, i'll go out during the week...

I know that another ng member has recently posted this same request so

letters but they are interested in finding out what Australia is like.

having a quilt made by
Sara Lorimer
A friend of mine wants to have a quilt made. Her mother died this year,
and she'd like to have some of her mom's clothes turned into a
queen-sized (more or less) quilt. Any ideas of what she could expect to
pay someone to do this for her? I know there are a lot of variables, but
if I could give her...

making some for her friends. She's very talented. Right now I'm on the couch

which batting??? by
Susan Torrens
Make sure to follow the minimum quilting requirements that are printed on
the batting packages. You don't want the batting to shift or come apart.
Some battings allow lots of space between quilting lines, while others do
not.
