OT shipping charges, oh good grief! by
Polly Esther[_5_]
I've looked high and low. I can not find a Max Factor sponge for applying
makeup anywhere here in the Swamp. It's not like I was expecting to find
them at the feedstore or post office but the drugstore and Wally don't have
them either. I really, really need one.
So. I tried online.

If you find a wonderful sale on Cyber Monday, please come here quickly and

Quilting software by
kylou
I'm preparing for retirement (hopefully a year from now). I was thinking of
investing in a quilting software program. Can anyone recommend one in
particular?
Thanks

Those darn shipping charges! by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
I ordered five spools of *gray* thread on sale for a total of $9.95. An
additional $5.95 was added for shipping and handling. Well, the spools
arrived and they were *pink*! (The invoice included with the shipment
plainly stated "gray".)
I paid $5.35 to ship the pink thread back to them. ...

"feathered" canoe pattern ? by
Kay Ahr
http://blog.sewhooked.org/2010/08/17/free-pattern-contessas-canoe/
Anybody know anything about this block?
I did download her pattern. It was missing some points and I was looking
for an excuse to play in EQ7, so I redrew it. I'm going to make it, but now
I'm curious about the block.

Steven Cook
Okay Polly, here is the fender bender update.
The phone rang all day long after the morning fiasco. Both insurance
companies, autobody place, police, etc. By 8:00 o'clock that night our
school district closed for Tuesday and Anchorage soon after and the next day
by 4:00 the same for...

Pillowcase fun by
Marcella Peek
I was taught how to make easy, three seam pillowcases at a quilt
retreat. I put step by step instructions up on my blog.

I'm giving mine to my family on Christmas Eve (we have enough pajamas to
last us at this point!) They were...

kiss the cook by
Taria
We are celebrating Thanksgiving a day early this year.
We work around emergency workers schedules so getting a day near the holiday
to be together is a blessing.
I have been cooking and baking for a couple days now. I love to cook and
feed people so it is a good thing but it is work! If you are...

OT - NZ Mine disaster by
Carol in NZ
For any who may know NZ a little, we have just heard the 29 miners who
have been trapped since Fri afternoon inside the Pike River Mine on
our southern West coast of NZ, have been very sadly confirmed as
having no hope at all, of surviving a 2nd explosion down the mine

AD: batting for quilting and much more from our fiber farm by
amber
Hi! I live and work on The McRanch. We are a small fiber farm in
central Texas. We raise fiber animals: angora goats, llamas,
alpacas, and sheep. We have outgrown our own fiber needs so, we have
a lot of extra fiber products and finished rugs. We have all natural
batting for quilting, roving...

Happy Turkey Day by
Butterflywings
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you,.
I'm starting to wear 'sneakers' for an hour a day (at home-boots when I go
out until the Holidays are over) now and work my way up to full time when I
go back on the 7th. Have pre-op that day and have surgery on the right foot
on the 8th. Once again cast for...

OT - Changes in plan by
Alice in PA[_3_]
For the last month, DH has been seeing doctors and getting treatment (2
injections) for bulging discs and a pinched nerve in his neck. Needless to
say, he isn't up for doing much, and we were thinking about him having neck
surgery. During this time, I had lots of therapy quilting time!!!! Last...

The Best!! Ice Cream by
Michelle G.
I'm late on this subject, but, just had to say, if you can get it where you
live. . .
Blue Bell is the BEST ice cream ever! Any flavor! It comes from Brenham,
TX, home of contented cows (per their ad).
Enjoy!

It's curtains for me. by
John
Or should I say, It's curtains for the kitchen by me. We went up to
the wonderful Mennonite fabric store out in the middle of their rural
enclave and my wife and I selected some new fabric for the kitchen
curtains. This place is gigantic, and is housed in a rough hewn pole
barn building and staffed...

Has Anyone Ever.... by
Sherry
Been to a viewer's choice quilt show, where one quilter stationed her
husband at the
front door to advise all the people coming in which number her quilt
was?
Just sayin'.
I've been totally astounded at how *nice* quilters are. That's been
affirmed to me over
and over on this group even! But...
