OT from Piggie by
Piglet
Just a quick note to say why I'm mostly invisible.....
Reading and posting from flat in bed ain't easy. Sciatica doctor has me
confined to bed; maybe we'll make some inroads on this, but I'm bored
brainless in the process. g
But typing when you ain't supposed to be sitting up ain't easy....and...

OT - I've finally done it! by
Sharon Harper
I spent this afternoon cleaning out my closet and drawers of all my "fat"
clothes! I was a size 26-28 and am now a size 18-20 so I decided that
anything above a 20 had to go - and it did!! I have 4 bulging shopping bags
to go to the Salvation Army/St Vinnie's as I have decided I will NEVER...

My DD has asked me to make a quilt for a friend of hers who would like a
giant dahlia pattern. I have a picture but no instructions or measurements.
Do any of you know of a good site to download this pattern from?

MQ problem by
DebsPrintOnIt
I just did some MQing on a little quilt using my walking foot. The top kept
shifting forward so that I got pleats where there was already a line of
stitching going the other direction. I've never had this much trouble before..
I tried decreading the pressure on the foot and then increasing it. ...

SEwing Expo by
zo
Is anyone planning on going to the sewing/quilting expo in Novi,
Michigan? It is sometime in early Sept. at the Novi Expo center. I
went to an expo for scrapbooking in May and it was SOOOOO much better
than I thought. I figured it would just be a bunch of venders selling
stuff that you can buy...

Lost Address help! And sewing machine needles... by
Nell Reynolds
Years ago when my father had his appendix out, my mother rode with him in
the ambulance to the hospital. Later, after he was stabilized, she went to
the pay phone, dropped her nickel in (that tells you how long ago this was),
and started to dial home to have my brother come pick her up. She...

Skipped Stitches Solved by
niasha
What type needle are you using? I find that even those needles designated
for "quilting" can give me problems. I like jeans needles, nice and sharp,
no problems yet sewing through dyed fabrics.

Hey Carla,
Sad to say but I've had those kind of days too. I can sympathize with

will feel great!. I just finished up my second machine quilted quilt and
it went waaay to smooth. I am giving my first machine quilted lap...

Dritz vs Omnigrid cutter by

Is that the one you have to squeeze the handle to open the blade? I've had
problems with other tools like that - they give me hand cramps. But thanks
for your input. :-)

Rocking stitch vs stab stitch by
DDM
Does anyone here use the stab stitch for hand quilting? I took a class
yesterday and I think I could get right into it. A woman in my guild does
stab stitch (in fact she gave the class) and she is very fast and very
accuate with it.
It wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be either. Now I'm...
