Clay and consequences by
Susie Thompson[_2_]
Hello everybody
I could do with your advice and opinion on something personal that's
happening with me that relates to this group. Last October I was
diagnosed with mild emphysema/COPD. I used to smoke a very little bit
in my twenties (I'm now 61). I was also brought up in a smoking...

I am looking for opinions from users of the Clay Boss wheels. It seems they
are the most reasonably priced but are they good for the money?

Clay Boss wheel - blown circuitboard - I need a part, but from where? by
töff
Didn't just blow the fuse, also blew the yellow disk capacitor on the
circuit board (and I hope nothing else!). The board is marked KBDM
REV.A 111894. It's Creative Industries Clay Boss, nice little wheel if
I can fix it.
Problem is, the capacitor has no legible value on it, like in farads,
so I...

Hello, group!I am using local red clay as an insulator when hardening and
quenching steel,attempting to achieve a "differential temper".Raw
clay, applied to bare steel, when heated flakes off and seems to be to
fragile.I've mixed up a mixture of red clay/hydrated lime, and applied it
in a liquid...

Clay for smoked/pit fired pottery that has not been bisqued by
CNB
Hi,
I make smoke fired pottery and have always bisque them at a low bisque
temperature but I'm looking for alternatives for people that I know do not
own a kiln. I'm planning on doing some smoke-fired burnished pottery pieces
and I'm wondering what I should start to look for in a clay if I am...

clay production - cutting off expences by
MJ
Hi all,
I am relatively new to ceramics and to this group, and I would like to ask
one question.
What is minimum of equipment required for clay production?
Scenario would be something like this: I get some clay directly from
deposit, and then what?
I live close to some first rate clay deposit,...

The last Clayart omnibus edition that I have received was dated the 24th

Is this correct, please, or has something gone wrong with my mail

Clayart and other good sources by

Since the thread has changed significantly I decided to change subject
header as well.
As I said, Clayart is a great resource even if you don't join. But you must
join to request answers unfound in the archives.
I happen to prefer this site for searching the archives
