About the Silicon Rubber by
Jackdaw
I recast the mould using a fresh batch of T20 cold cast from Tiranti, and
cast a test run using a standard resin, to check out the finish. It looked
ok so I remade the mould as described and the result was excellent. I will
try a sample in the Tower cooker ( Electric tabletop cooker/stew pot...

Silicone Rubber T20 from Tiranti by
Jackdaw
As you might remember I bought some Silicon Rubber mix from Tiranti. Well,
it turned out OK ish, I did not mix it well enough, so this is a gooey patch
in the middle of the silicon mould rubber. I have now started another mould,
having bought a Salter scale and done the best I can with...

Bead rollers by
Fenrir Enterprises
If you make your own bead roller, how do you find out how much clay to
use in it? Is there some formula for it, or just trial and error?
Random tip: the 'measurements' for clay amount for the Amaco tri-bead
roller that Micheals carries is 1.5cm in the bicone slot (using the
standard 'fill half the...

Tiranti in the U.K. by
Jackdaw
For those of you in the U.K. try to get hold of the Tiranti Catalogue. I got
mine with my first order of Silicone casting kit.
Which even now is ( I hope ) setting shapes in my wooden mould box. The
list of goodies in the catalogue is amazing with very quick carrier
delivery. I am using T20...

Ok, the new room is shaping up, and now I'm zooming the internet. I
feel like I've taken another small step into the 21st century :)
The unpacking is going slowly (dumb job keeps expecting me to show up
every day g).
Hopefully, I'll be back to beadwork by week's end. It's been about a
month...

Yeah! Some help w/ sanding! by
Polly S.
I'm surely not alone in disliking having to sand. Today I picked up a
Dremel MultiPro Cordless at a local pawn shop! No box, no warranty, but
it looks brand new!!! Made me smile!
And that was a good thing after a minor disaster last night. I had been
working on a beautiful dragonfly... and had...

Press moulds by
Jackdaw
I am in the UK, so... Hi to all you lot over the pond.
I was wondering, is it possible to make a "press mould" for Fimo? I need to
make a range of small (one inch by two inch ) jewellery type things. I am
keeping my designs close to my chest, till I can finalise. Would a silicon
mould work, or...

Silicone Baking Sheets? by
Barbara Forbes-Lyons
Has anyone tried baking clay on those fancy-schmancy silicone baking sheets?
Just wondering if the items come out shiny like they do when you bake
directly on metal or glass.

Air bubbles from pasta machine? by
mermaidscove
I've worked with clay before but I mainly did inlay and sculpting. Now
I got a pasta machine to try out some other techniques. I'm using Premo
clay. When I condition it according to directions I've found on the web
(putting the clay though the machine up to ten times on the thickest
setting) it...
