The Dying SG Retail Store by
Glassman
My sense, after talking with people around the country, is that the
stained glass retail store is quickly becoming extinct. A combination of
things is to blame. Cheap lamp and panel imports from China, Korea, and
Mexico was the start. Then it was mailorder & wholesalers selling to anyone.
Now...

Lurkers Speak! by

I respect your right to lurk, but if each of you would try and become just
a tad more out of the closet, just think of how much more fun this place
would be. Try one post, or better yet one thread start, or one question.
This board is really drying up, and that's the primary reason for the...

Fusing Glass Discussions by
FlameNwind
Hi everyone! Have been playing with my new kiln and LOVING it!!! Thinking
about pre-emptively buying stock in the electric company to recoup some of
my costs in running the thing day and night. But aside from the fact that
glass will be making me a pauper in short order, working with warm glass...

COE of Kokomo Glass? by
Janet R
Does anyone know the COE of Kokomo Stained Glass? I have called and
emailed this company a couple times with no answers. Every other
glass company has been a tremendous help, but not Kokomo.
Any help would be appreciated! :)

Stained glass cabinet design by
Matthew Lybanon
We have seen a web page with information about how to build a stained
glass storage cabinet by adding metal strapping as dividers, but (of
course) are unable to find the page again. The general idea is simple
enough that we can probably figure out how to do it. But the article
had some tips...

Solder properties? Irons? by
searobin8356
Hi all, I'm new to stained glass. Ok, that probably lost 90% of you but
sometimes you just have to be new. I've been lurking, and rarely, posting
here for the past month or so. I am considering working with lead free
solder and am looking for a site that lists solder properties. What I want
to...

kiln trouble AIM 84BD with Fuji controller by
kellyK
I have an AIM 84BD with a Fuji PXV-3 ramp/soak control. I've had it for
about 3.5 years. It has suddenly turned on me! First it began (about 2
firings ago) to briefly buzz (like a door buzzer) for about 4-6 seconds when
it kicked into heat cycle to maintain 1500F. Since it did it's think ok,...

Source of small glass furnace in UK? by
Mike Firth
Well, I tried to reply off line, but IE makes it so difficult to get rid
of your NO SPAM, I gave up.
You will have difficulty finding a way to work that small a quantity,
especially if you literally want to melt from a batch recipe rather than
cullet. A kilogram (2.2 pounds) is under half a liter...

Spring loaded cutter by
kdoney
I'm looking for a spring loaded cutter to put on a cnc gantry machine. I
could use a pneumatic actuator to apply the correct pressure but I'm looking
for simple. Is 15 psig the correct pressure for most stained glass? Also,
can I use my engraving head to cause the fissures by just cutting too deep?
