Hi, I put up a few pics of a laying tool in my album on yahoo - rctnp. I have been using one now for a few years and I really like it. I found it cumbersome at first but now its like having another finger! only time I don't use it is when I am stitching a small piece in a hoop or q-snap. then I...

removing a label - on topic - sort off by Cheryl Isaak
okay - a puzzler for the chemistry types among us. Years ago I had a plastic first aid kit in the truck. It doesn't fit in the car's glove box. But dang, it's the perfect size to hold "stuff" for a travel bag. Or just to store buttons/charms etc... EXCEPT - I can not get the printed label off....

Another finish! by Joan Erickson
Finished DGD's Furry friends, which is currently at the framer's. There was enough leftover floss in the kit to do one, if not 2 more!!!! Passed it on to a friend. Next up: another "My sweet heart", which will be DD's ring bearer's pillow until the wedding and then framed. I'm doing it in her...

Finish and Caveat by Karen C
Finished French Country Wedding Bells by JBW (I'm actually ahead of schedule on this gift!) NSLNS kitted it up with one 5-yard WDW. The names of bride and groom were not long names, and you know I'm extremely thrifty with my floss .... I finished with only about 6" (2 ply) to spare (14/28...

small vent by Cheryl Isaak
smallish vent - on two levels. Last night I had make a (sort of) emergency run to Best Buy to replace a certain young lady's charging cable for her phone. No problem getting help, but when it came time to check out it was a different story. One cashier - young man trying his best, but the woman...

I've been searching for hand embroidery software that will allow me to design my own patterns and/or scan pictures, etc. and then have the software convert them to an embroidery pattern for stitching. Most of what I've found is for machine embroidery. I haven't found anything for hand...

Finish, and Caveat by Karen C
Found the perfect gift for a friend (who doesn't even own a TV) -- The Posy Collection's "I cannot live without books" bookmark. Most of it stitched up easily, simple block letters, no shading on the stacks of books. And then there was Thomas Jefferson's signature... damn near every stitch...

At Christmas I was looking for a way of displaying my mini Christmas Stockings, so I hung them from coloured butchers twine using mini clothes pegs. This made me think how good my Christmas Stockings would look if they were added to bunting, using the pegs, so they could be removed at the end of...
