I am afraid the group is almost dead... I come by to read posts every

Silk Floss by
Rhea
I'm really interested in starting to stitch in silk. There are several brands
out there with several price ranges. Could someone share their experience with
silk floss and their recommendations. I live 85 miles from LNS, so I usually
order from the internet or ebay. And I usually purchase a...

Customer etiquette by
CANDY CORRIGAN
Hi Everyone!
Please indulge me just a little. I work in a needlework shop and have just
come home from two really busy days, where classes were being held in the
shop. I have read many a post here about the rudeness of certain shop
owners and hope you will listen to a little bit of it from the...

Who are we? by
Joan E.
Since we seem to have one or two new members and a couple of recent
returners, I thought it might be time for another round of "Who are
we?", so I'll start.
I'm Joan. I live on the eastern edge of North Dakota. I work in a
university library and have been here for over 30 years now...

INFLAMMATORY Breast Cancer by
Tia Mary
I purposely didn't mark this as an ot post because I wanted to make
sure that EVERYONE will hopefully read this. I don't remember ever
seeing anything about this subject posted before and we had several
discussions about breast cancer last month. Did you know that there is
more than one type...

Eterna Silk by
BDS2pds
Also could you have seen the item please tell me the difference between mini
twist, stranded, and silk twist.
I am using it for surface crewel work and it has to cover the fabric well.

backstage textiles by
BDS2pds
At 1:00 this afternoon I am getting my albeit gloved hands on the vast
needlework textiles in the vault at the Dewitt Museum here at Colonial
Williamsburg. The curator is taking interesting people in. I could hardly
sleep last night! What fun !

"Redwork" and Vintage Stitching.... by
Lula
Hello Linda,
I think you will really enjoy trying out "redwork"
embroidery......especially if you get one of the following books to
inspire and show you how.......that's how I got hooked on this type of
stitchery.....Pam Kellogg sent me the Linen Heirloom book as a
gift.....and then I sent her...

just curious - nations represented here... by
KCat
it seems there's a significant population of UK folk here. I suspect
because needlework is a more-established "hobby" (using the word loosely)
there than in the US?
the "Rule Britannia" post got me wondering. Never heard of Crackers until I
became a 'net wanderer. Despite living in London for 2...

OT----- Who has time to stitch? by
scottnh
As I read over all these posts on nit picking, verbage, etc. I wonder how
all you ladies have time to do any needlework, crocheting, or knitting.
I think enough is enough. It is all so redundant!!! Get a private chat
room.

My Finished Sampler by
Lucille[_3_]
I added a picture in my RCTNP album of the little sampler I made for my
sister and brother-in-law's 50th Anniversary. It was supposed to be an
apple tree, but since they live in Arizona, I figured oranges were more
appropriate.
