Flannel search solved by
polly esther
I have been searching for years for a flannel that would not pill, fuzz,
warp or ravel unreasonably. I have paid as much as $18 per yard in the
quest. Eighteen dollars per yard is way beyond budget for making shelter
quilts but I was as serious as could be. Today I tossed a length of flannel...

My teacher was asking if any one had ideas for labels. I piped up & said "I

OT - Haircut by
jennellh
A guy stuck his head into a barber shop and asked, "How long
before I can get a haircut"?
The barber looked around the shop full of customers and said,
"About two hours." The guy left.
A few days later, the same guy stuck his head in the door and
asked, "How long before I can get a...

How to make quilt with scraps and no pattern? by
nzlstar*
hi Judy in Florida, :)
scraps of that size can be fun to play with and thats just what i'd do
to find a nice layout.
they could join up by short ends or long sides, with/without sashing
between rows of those.
they could lay long sides together but slightly offset using a plain or
tone on tone wee...

I built an Ironing Center for myself! by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
Leslie The Handyman strikes again!!! (VBG)
I went to Big Lots and bought two cheap bookcases ($19.99 each) which
are 35.5 in. tall- just the perfect ironing height for me. (That's the
height of a kitchen countertop.) I assembled the frames of both
bookshelves and glued them back-to-back, then...

Need name tag suggestions by
Louise
Okay, I finally got around to rejoining the local guild - I had some kind of
bad experiences in the past, but I decided to give them (and me) another
chance. Now I have to come up with a creative idea for a name tag. Turns out
this month is the annual potluck and they're having a name tag...

please invent this gadget by

OK, I'm machine quilting, everything going along just fine. Stippling along
the border, bobbin runs out. Put a new one in and keep sewing. Finished the
border and had a look at the back for bloopers. Aargh! All the bit with the
new bobbin, about 3/4 of the entire border, looked like loopy...

This afternoon Mary in Rock Island, Susan Laity Price and I met in Muscatine
for a couple hours of talking and shopping. The time went too quickly. It
certainly brightened up a drizzly, dark and chilly afternoon! Susan has a
picture of the three of us on her camera....perhaps she can post it...

fabshophop problem, unusual by
joysjane
Hi, I have gotten all the bunnies, but for Allentown Sewing.
It's obvious where the bunny is, so that is not my problem. But everytime I
go to their site, it shuts down my computer, does anyone else have that
problem? If you have not had that problem and got the bunny on that site,
could you...

Quilter's Newsletter mags - on ebay by
queenoftheinternetauctions
I don't mean to spam the group and normally don't post here at all.
But I figure you all are more likely to want these and actually use
them. So please indulge for a second and take a peek. I won't be
posting beaniebabies or star wars action figues. Just these.

finally - baby quilt posted by
Musicmaker
I mentioned a while back that I'd designed a baby quilt for my first
grand daughter (due any day now) and that I'd post it. Though I've
been having lots of trouble loading graphics rich pages and doing much
of anything in my photos album, I managed to get pics of the front and
back up. I used...

Need opinions by

Ok, I have struggled through two months of self doubt and a project
that wouldn't come together. My Red Riding Hood "quilt" is going great,
but is not an overall red project and won't fit the requirement of
being 24" X 24". I put together two other attempts, but both were
horrible and I have...

This will be quicker. by
KJ
Than trying to find somthing I "think" is stored in my computer files. I
need the site or text of the poem for a baby quilt. The gist of which is
"It's okay if you sit on your quilt, it's okay if you spit on your
quilt...etc."
Thanks! Google isn't being my friend.

Focus on Applique--Style by
Debra
What style of applique do you like to do the most: realistic scenes,
Baltimore album style, cartoon-like, folk style, Hawaiian, Celtic
knotwork, abstract/geometric, or something I forgot to mention?
What makes you like that particular style better than other styles?
Do you like to plan your...

Washing frabic by
newquilter
Came home today with my first fat quarters. The women at the quilt
shop helped me pick colors for my tumbling block project and the fabric
was beautiful.
My wife, an experienced quilter, insisted that the fabric should be
washed. I sorted the colors into dark and light and put them in...
