--
Yup, and they are called "Plums" , I think...
And by the way, while I thought I too was a knowledgable fan of the
watermelon, an uncle of my wife was in MI from Arkansas and tells me there
are at least a dozen different kinds of watermelon,...

This post is important to all by
Javahut
and too long and may be off topic.
Apologies extended now, my hands have been slapped, and I won't do it again.
Of course, that is, in my opinion.
This post is in regards to an ongoing discussion under the heading
"Armstrong" and the fact that their glass is now manufactured in China.

My heart is sad, for those that care by
Javahut[_4_]
I found out today just how brief life is, and how odd it can be.
Many people here have followed the trials and tribulations of Michael
Robison.
For those that don't read here often, Michael came in the group not all that
long ago with a new energy and excitement for a craft he did 20 years...

Separating glass from glass by
Jay Pique
Hi there -
I'm in the middle of googling, but so far no luck. I have in front of
me an all glass picture holder. Essentially it is two thick plates of
glass glued face to face with a thin glass separator between them to
leave a gap for the photo. I don't know what type of adhesive was
used, but...

small scale glassblowing with Nortel Minor Burner? by
Jean-Francois Theoret
I am contemplating the purchase of the Nortel Minor Burner - however, I have
done a glassblowing course (the _real_ glassblowing with furnace and all)
and I know I can do small scale at home with a torch. However, I am not sure
that the Minor will fit the task. Any opinions? I mostly want to work...

Melting old glass by
Jeff
I am curious about the makeup of 19th and early 20th century glass from old
bottles and containers. Specifically: Do the melting points of various glass
(glasses?) make it possible to arrange pieces of various types into a frame,
melt them in a kiln until they flow together, then pull the piece to...
