Need for Speed? by
DAB
Since I have been reading here I notice comments about knitting at a speed
of and I just want to know what the reason for knitting fast is?
Do the speed knitters do this because they have a forced timetable
.......like making samples for yarn shops, competitions or for selling. My
situation...

Crochet Hat pattern needed by
King's Crown[_3_]
I'm not looking for any hat. I've done several in the past month looking
for something a teenager would wear with a brim. My first couple look like
hats a jockey would wear. The last one I made looked like something the
Confederate army would wear. I just bought another Ravelry pattern and...

OT (sorta): Time to myself but sad... by
Allaya Diep
Hello everybody
I just wanted to write because you all seem to be much wiser than me in lots
of things, and since I don't have a mother to get any advice from, I
consider you the next best thing. :)
I finally got some time to myself today. I was excited at the thought
because I have an aran...

OT-Easter is reading time here...;-)) by
Aud
.... and we traditionally read crime in the Easter holiday. Don't ask me
why!
After one not too good (but not too bloody either,) crime book,
I now read a much more interesting book!
Well, I have just started, I'm on page 43
out of 550 pages!LOL!
I guess Mirjam can tell us about this author.

A totally off-the-wall question but not 'really' OT either... by
Noreen's Knit*che
Hi group!
Remember when lots of ladies owned MANY wigs? They were kept on
those styrofoam 'heads' (stands).
Where can I get two or three of these in a hurry?
Reason: I'd like to use them for displaying Mobius at the Mile-
Long-Yard-Sale.
TIA,
Hugs,
Noreen

Question from a lurker - 50 year old Christmas stockings by
Cheryl Isaak
Hi, don't post often but have a real poser of a question..
My mother recently gave me the stockings she knitted for my sister and I
about 50 years ago, but they are badly discolored. The white and light
colored areas are yellowed and they generally look grungy. I think they are
wool or a mostly...

Speed Cro-Sheen by
Barbara Vaughan
I have been thinking of crocheting some throw rugs, as some of you know
from my recent posts. One of the patterns I like calls for 30 balls of
J&P Coats Speed Cro-Sheen, article C44. It is for a bathroom rug that
will measure 24 by 36 inches. It is crocheted with a double strand of
thread, which of...

CMM PDX2
Well, I knew it would be understood here...
Since about 6:30 p.m, I've been d'loading pix from my favorite clip-art
newsgroup, to keep myself occupied during the boring part of a project.
Said project is skeining some yarn for over-dyeing. (not that it isn't a
perfectly lovely fuschia color...

FO: Cabled Cardigan by
hesira
It's finally done! And just in time for some unseasonably chilly
weather here in South Mississippi.
The pattern is from Vogue Knitting Fall 2006, #19, Margaret O'Leary's
Cabled Cardigan. I used Knit Picks Wakashan 100% baby alpaca instead
of the cashmere blend called for. It's really...
