Cutting HST from sewn strips... by
Johanna Gibson
I own the Creative Grids angle ruler that lets a person cut
half-square triangles from sewn strips. I can't find the accompanying
instruction sheet (strange for my tidy sewing area!).
I know that you sew two strips, let's say one blue and one yellow,
to each other. I think you sew these on...

wrapping mummies or dressing ghosts by
Polly Esther
Please tell me again. I promise to write it down and keep it in my 'must
be remembered' book. Last year, I wanted some fine white cotton fabric for
a special red hearts on white crib quilt. Some of you recommended Kona
white fabric. It was just wonderful and the quilt is still gorgeous all...

Fondling by
Vikki In WA State
This is almost OT, but still deals with one of our addictions.
Fondling.
I found out recently that my 5yo dgd is a fondler. I had an unfinished
quilt top that I made about 15 years ago. All pinks, peaches and a
little lavendar. When I ran into that top I realized that I had
unknowingly made it...

Combatting the Troll by
steve
Hi all
While I am a business and computer teacher, I deal more with applications
like Microsoft Office and the like. There are several people at school
though that are more technically savvy about things like this so I will be
asking around at school tomorrow to see what they suggest. At the...

Janome 6600 by
Marcella Peek
OK, Sparky, I went downstairs and played with the free-motion looking
stitches. I also browsed around the Yahoo group an got their scoop.
Yes, the manual says to do these with the feed dogs down. Yes, many on
the group report success. Well, when I did it, the machine beeped at me
and told me...

Looking for Best Online FQ shop! by
Kate G.
I need to buy a bunch of FQ's that I will be giving away (maybe a few will come in the form of
squishy's) but most go to guild activities.
Does anyone know a good shop with decent quality fabric and low cost for fat quarters? Have you
done business with them? Are they reliable when it comes to...

Janome 6600 by
Sparky
Friends,
Has anyone else bought a Janome Memory Craft 6600? What do you think
of it? Have you had any problems with it? I bought one several months
ago and I'm still ambivalent. I love some of the features, but I'm not
impressed with others and I'm not sure I'd buy one again.

VERY, VERY OT Bath soap recommendation? by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
I have scrubbed a ring of slime-y soap residue from the bathtub for the
last time.... I hope! All the deoderant bath soap bars now seem to
contain "moisturizers" and I hate the slippery, scummy, slime-y mess
they leave in my bathtub. I was using Zest White Water bars, but they
seem to be...

Advice on a minky (minkee) blanket/throw by
Dee5
Hello Everyone,
I am looking to make an adult sized minky blanket. The minky I have is
double-sided and extremely soft on both sides, however it is only 36"
wide. I obviously want to make it wider, but how would I do this?
Considering it is double sided it is already thick enough and I do...

TV Show Of Interest by
Nancy in NS
I thought this might be of interest to some of you who can
get it. Unfortunately, our basic cable won't receive it. I
do think it's a repeat, but I'd love to be able to see it.

Question about batiks by
Trixie
I've always admired batiks, but haven't used them in any of the quilts I've
made because I am concerned about them bleeding when washed. I had a small
amount of purple batik in one swap block that was made for me, and it ran
when it was washed. I would really, really like to make a quilt with...
