Arrived in MO knitting all the way. by
Dawn 0
Arrived in MO two weeks ago. Springfield is great. We are house
hunting so between knitting from CA to Springfield and house hunting I
almost have the back of Crystal Palace's kimono jacket done.
I will post pictures of the shawls I have knitted. Is there a site
you post them on or do you all...

Artchick - question by
SlinkyToy
I also spin, but I don't let it prevent me buying yarn occasionally
(or not-so-occasionally). It seems you use only your handspun - why
is that? Budget considerations, or are you the "ultimate yarn snob"?

Article Dangerous Items on Planes by
Gina Beirne
I just found an article on CNN.com entitled "Dangerous objects still allowed
on planes."
It's at:
http://www.cnn.com/2004/TRAVEL/01/15/airline.security.ap/index.html
Knitting needles are mentioned.
A sidebar to the right lists items air travelers are allowed to carry
including "knitting and...

Artyarns Tutorial Session 6 by
Tante Jan
Has anyone done Session 6? If so, I would like to know your interpretation
of the K1* which is at the end of Rows 11 - 18. Specifically, what does the
* mean? My guess is that it means do the M!, K2Tog which she introduced in
Session 2 and used again in Session 3. Does anyone have a...

As a point of information by
SlinkyToy
The "hurry-up cake" recipe in my ca1960 edition of The Joy of Cooking
makes approximate 18 average cupcakes.
Double the recipe and you'll have cupcakes coming out of your ears.
I leave it to the reader to determine exactly how I might know this.

Ashford Joy spinning wheel by
Els van Dam
Hello Norma.....the picture Martin posted for you is a traveling an
Ashfort Joy wheel made by Ashfort in New zealand.
You can fold it so you can take it with you in the car or when you
traveling by bus plane or train. It is an upright wheel with a single
treadle and I would think that it is...

Assistance, please... a teeny bit OT, but not REALLY! by
Noreen's Knit*che
Hi gang!
The FanListings dot org has given me the green light to run the
official EZ and Meg fanlisting, and I need a "Meg" photo.
(I'm of course referring to Elizabeth Zimmermann and Meg Swansen).
I have a great pic of EZ already.
TIA,
Noreen

Astounding feat (feet?) by
Wooly
I finished the toe of the second of a pair of socks last night. One
ball of Lorna's Laces sock yarn, one pair of socks. Granted, they're
short socks, but my feet aren't particularly small as such things go.
I snipped 7" after I closed the toe and worked in the end.
This is actually a good thing,...

At least a bit OT - Abot the NetCorner by
Pirjo Ilvesvuori
Well, this is it then. No customers anymore. Not into this old street
address. The new place will be opened soon. The computers (including this)
will go tomorrow. Then I can type only from home, but the main thing is I
can stay in touch. And when the computers are back online in the new place,
all...

At one time I was the only man on the newsgroup by
Padishar Creel
So has the addiction now spread to more men as it should? I see more men in
the yarn shops and a few knitting/crocheting on plains etc.
So have we arrived or what? It is too much fun to let the ladies hog it
all! GRIN
