Prewashing Batt by
Bonnie
Okay, now that I've decided on the batt I'm going
to use - How many of you actually pre wash the
batting?
At this time, I don't intend to do this step.

OT CLEAN by
Roberta Zollner
Bought a new gadget and it's way too much fun -a power cleaner! Hooked it up
to the hose, and all the dirt on the terrace paving just blasted away! (You
can do calligraphy with the nozzle if you get a little bored.) It came with
an extension handle, so we may try it out on the glass carport roof,...

Need ideas for 6 very similar fabrics by
quilternow
Somehow I have 5" squares of 6 different -yet similar colors of fabric.
The light and dark of it are only a few shades apart. Too similar and
I cant think of anything that would contrast in a good way. They are
all in the "peach" hue. I think I have enough of them all for a couple
quilts....any...

Soggy flannel by
Susan Laity Price
Anyone else from Chicago area have problems with water in the basement
last night? A very bad storm hit about 8:30 p.m. last night. Our
electricity went out by 8:45 p.m. When it hadn't come back on by 9:15
my son decided he should go to the office and check on his computer
equipment. We decided to...

Happy dance - again! by
Jo Pender
Just finished the other quilt I was stitching for a Christmas present.
Only finished it today, but the recipients aren't back from visiting
family until this evening, so just in time! It was started as part of a
Christine Porter class I attended in Bath. I wasn't sure I had chosen
the right...

Here is the picture of the companion piece for The Quilt From Hell. It
is in the Trip around the World pattern. It measures 75" x 75" making
it a large lap quilt. They are hanging on the quilt rack ajacent to
each other and so represent a pair of studies of uses of the same
squares, but in both...

Katrina Relief Quilts Question by
Betsy Ross
Truth is, I know nothing about batting
or quilting requirements for batting
types. (I make the tops for Quilts of
Valor and let the longarmer figure out
the details!) DH and I just went
through both quilting and clothing
fabric stashes and came up with fabric
for two adult quilts and eight...

more info on ultimate scrap project by
Susan Laity Price
Sometime this holiday week end I posted about what I called my
ultimate scrap project. Several of you had questions so I thought I
should explain more.
The only preparation for the project was to press all the fabric
scraps. They had not been pre-washed so did not need starch. If I
wanted to do an...

Question about Minkee by
I'm making a quilt for my DH and he likes the feel of minkee for the
backing. I only have 2 yards of it (bought at a quilt show) and will have
to buy more, however I don't know much about it. How would it be for
backing and should it be washed first. Thanks for any help.
