Shawl Patteren ??? by
Bryan
I've been searching the net for a few days, have a stack of over a dozen
shawl patterns I printed out thus far, plus a few more just bookmarked.
Anyway, my Generation Y sister would like something closer to what Jessica
Simpson wears on her MTV reality newlywed show. Tho I have not yet seen...

Maybe a stupid question about dishcloths and I'm changing my name by
Qintes
All the "Knit/Crochet Dishcloths" booklets I've seen say you have to use
100% cotton yarn. Why is that? Can't I use my handy acrylic stuff?
And my name is too boring and common. There are tons of Pams out there.
I can get lost in the shuffle. I need a unique name like Mirjam so
you don't...

Hi all, I have a bag of very soft black Alpaca, and would like to blend
it.....but what with?
I am thinking plying for socks, and think maybe I'd go for the tussa silk,
but not sure if this mix is gonna be hardwearing enough...any idea's.. here

The Death of Ski Sweaters and Ganseys - Long by
Yarnstandards.com is the end of ski sweaters and fisherman's ganseys. I am
not saying that the Standard Yarn Weight System is the cause of the end of
ski sweaters and fisherman's sweaters, any more than a bridge is the cause
of the end of a road, but when you get to the end of the road, there is...

Sock heels by
Mary Fisher
The socks I knitted recently for No 9 grandchild were from a wartime pattern
and had an 'auto' heel.
The pattern book had several other sock patterns and I was interested to see
that some had 'French' and some 'Dutch' heels.
For interest I knitted one each of these heels, they were both...

a certain TROLL who thinks she's the queen of Sheba by
David Sky
This is hilarious! Just this morning I was thinking that crochet and
knitting groups are the first newsgroups I've read in which people don't
flap at each other. lol
David
who frequently kills his yarn plants
mind you, by accident

Martha Stewart's Poncho by
[email protected]
Hi:
Did anyone see the grey poncho that Martha Stewart was wearing when
released from prison? It looked crocheted with a scalloped edge and
appeared to be made out of chenille yarn. The pattern looks familiar
to me. I checked Lionbrand's website but I didn't see it there. The
newscaster listed...

New pic by
Shillelagh
I've finished the shawl I was knitting for my MIL for Christmas, and have
posted a pic in my Yahoo album. Here's the link:
http://tinyurl.com/57fjc
It's knit with a very soft, grey mohair yarn that unfortunately sheds a good
deal. I've washed the shawl and given it a good brushing to try to get...

yahoo invite versus usenet by
YarnWright
I'm leaning towards declining the invite, as I don't like the way
yahoogroups 'works' compared to usenet.
IMHO, a 'forum' would be more LIKE usenet.

happy Sunday and a very safe Labour day for everyone in North America by
Els van Dam
This is realy the end of Saturday for me, but I am a little late in
getting to bed, thus it is Sunday already. We were watching funny animal
commercials and at the same time, I was knitting my 6x6 for September.
Being adventurous, I am trying my hand......again.....at a lace pattern.
I do not know...

Dental knitting by
Wooly
I got another 5 rows made on the Icelandic shawl while at the dentist
again today, with no mistakes this time. Had I known what she was
going to do I'd have taken a LOT more valium today than I did on
Wednesday - which would have been bad for the knitting but good for my
mental state.
For those...

Knitting a moebius. by
Bernadette
Today I finished knitting my first moebius - a scarf and hood
combined.. My husband has promised to take some pictures of it tomorrow
so I can post them.
It has been a peculiar experience, albeit a most enjoyable one. When I
cast on and worked the first row I did not think there was any way...
