OT - unbord granddarling prayers needed by
Queen of Squishies
Initial testing has shown that my unborn granddarling my son is expecting
may have Spina bifida. Further testing is being done to determine if this
is the case or not. They are both pretty stressed about this, and of course
we are very concerned as well. All prayers for this little one will...

Gunky iron by
frood
I was pressing on some Daisy Scout patches today, and grabbed a bit of handy
fabric to use as a press cloth. Ooops! The iron had some gunk on it and it
transfered to this lovely yellow sun fabric I have!
So, 2 questions. How do I clean the gunk off my iron, using only things I
have in the house -...

help remembering fabric by
quilter
I'm trying to find a fabric I saw a year or two ago with 50's style
ladies doing housework (ironing, I think). I thought maybe it was on a
green background. It was quite popular, and now that I want it, I
can't find it or remember who the manufacturer is to do a proper
search. Anyone remember...

In the long run by
Polly Esther
There are two 'new to me' fabric manufacturers just joining my stash; one is
Westminster Fibers and the other is J. Wecker-Frisch. They were ordered
online because they were fun bubble prints. Both fabrics feel so lovely it
is hard to put them down. I'm wondering how the feel of fabric relates...

I've just been listening to hurricane news on Fox, and noticed that
one one item of other news they spoke of 'thirty hundred people' when
here we would have said 'three thousand' (3,000).
Is this a general thing - or regional - or is it just that particular
news reader? Here its unusual to go much...

prewashing batiks by
quilter
Help! I prewash everything before it gets incorporated into my fabric
stash. I usually run fabric under the faucet and stick it in a bowl of
warm water for anywhere from 5-20 minutes to make sure the water is
clear, then toss it in the washing machine on delicate. If a fabric
bleeds, I change...
