Nearly a month to Guancheng by

Everything was so strange.
side surrounded by a group of chattering I do not know when to start, silence became my habit. Night, promise big school, far too quiet, only the voice of the vehicle back and forth. Seems isolated and like I disappeared. I have yet to meet no acquaintances in the...

Looking for some ideas whimsical houses in cottonwood bark by
Tom Hayden
Hi
On Sunday I bought a small piece of cottonwood bark at the New England
Woodcarver's annual Spirit of Wood show. Nice show, by the way!
At the show I saw some neat examples of fantasy houses (for gnomes, etc.)
that had been carved into cottonwood bark. Now I'm looking for some ideas so
I can...

Need good source for carving gloves by
Bill Houdek
Think you are asking too much. I get a number of mine from Woodcraft at
about that price. I see them at shows and most are in that area--get some
there as well. Have several catalogues and they charge that as well plus
shipping. Have bought some lesser priced cutting tools and not at all happy
with...

Stubai tools by
AAvK
Can anyone comment on the edge retaining quality of Stubai carving tools,
even by comparison with other famous name tools? I have their bench chisels
and am very impressed with the quality of the steel.
Are there any really good U.S. made carving tools?
TIA all,

Peach Pit/Seed Monkey by
Jack Casuso
If you have access to old Chip Chats volumes, two might be of use to you.
Sept/Oct '94 has an article titled "Peach Pit Carving" and the May/June
issue has an article titled "Peach Seed Carving". I don't know it they
would help, I didn't subscribe to Chip Chats until much later than those
issues. ...

Hi there!
A friend recently gave me something that looks like a lump of glass but
could be possibly used as a head to a walking stick or walking cane.
Now, I'm a bit at a lost as to what to do next and was wondering if
anybody could offer suggestions for a web site, store, or whatever that
would...

A.T.
You can be a skilled wood carver in just 20 minutes, glide the copy
tip over the original item and the copy arm makes an identical replica
of carvings, decoys, statuettes, plaques, moldings, etc. Making fine
wood carvings is so simple anyone can do it. The perfection of your
first carving will...
