QI, Claws and Quilts by
dogmom
Tomorrow Bo, our neutered cat, is fixin' to lose his front claws. DH and I
are very reluctant to do this, but we see no options. He is strictly indoors
since we got tired of other QI's whom we loved turning into coyote chow (one
of the hazards of living in the country). We've tried various...

Ran short-need help matching pattern by
A SHEARER
Hello Group, I ran short on two sides of outer border butterfly print. I
have two pieces that I can match up and make them long enough. Is there a
sure fire way of piecing them to match perfectly? TIA

Resting on my laurels by
Polly Esther
I'm not sure where that expression originated but that's what I'm doing.
My Irish Chain scrappy quilt is successfully, p-l-e-a-s-i-n-g-l-y
arranged. I simply sit here enjoying the way it plays nicely together.
Much too often someone here posts a question, gets many replies and never
lets us...

OT - sort of: Down comforters by
Patti S
I have a very nice, ridiculously expensive down comforter. When I bought
it, it was "baffled" so the feathers wouldn't shift. With a number of
years of use, a lot of the stitching/baffling has come out, mostly in
the center where it gets the most wear, and I noticed this past winter,
that all the...

finished quilt by
Kay Ahr[_2_]
Finally finished this thing in the Finished Quilts folder --
http://photos.yahoo.com/kayahr
It's the 2007 Going Batty 101. I took a six-week class at a local quilt
shop a couple of years ago.
It was the class from H-E-double-golfsticks!!! I learned a lot, but the
atmosphere was just mean. ...

Pressing seam roll? by
Dorothy
I'm not sure if anyone is familiar with this item but it was widely
used in suit and dress making years ago. If you know what I'm talking
about does anyone know where one of these can be purchased? I've
searched a lot of shops and have had no luck.
Thanks in advance.

Columbus quilt show. by
Gen
If anyone wants to plan on a meetup at the show, let me know when you'll be
there and I'll see what I can come up with.
Jerry asked about points of interest. There are several that I'd forgotten
about until I got the Columbus magazine today. There are art quilt
exhibits at the Riffe Gallery...

Ping: Gen by
Kate G.[_2_]
Just wanted to say I will not be heading to Columbus for the quilt show.
(much to my disappointment).
But I leave Thursday for a few days visiting friends in South Carolina.
Then I get back and Ryan's last day of school for the year is Friday ... so
several activities for him to be shuttled to...

Columbus Ohio quilt show by
MaleQuilter
My wife and I are going to the NQA quilt show in Columbus, Ohio next
week. We will go from North Alabama through Nashville, TN and
Louisville KY to Columbus.
We avoid the interstate when we can get a better view of the country
side. Anyone have suggestions about things we should see and...

Stuck! by
[email protected]
The last few days, I've been making great progress on machine-quilting
my first bed-size quilt, which I'm trying to have finished by the end
of June. I'm a beginning quilter, and I don't think the quilting part
is nearly as much fun as the planning, cutting, piecing, and sewing on
binding steps. ...

My Happy Dance by
Hanne Gottliebsen
Just realised my post got in with another thread with "Happy Dance" as
the name - sorry about that!
So, with not much time to spare I did finish the baby quilt before my
God daughter's (well, not quite, but I only know the Danish term for
this) Christening on Sunday past.
Here are pictures of...

New Pattern! by
sundancer
I just found this great group!
How fun to read all the posts!
I discovered a new pattern called "Dancing Chickens" by Debi Hubbs.
It is so darling! Sew's sewing Palace in Helena, MT has it available
and you can even get a fabric kit like the one on the cover.
Scroll down to the bottom of this...

NY Beauty. by
Sally Swindells
I am contemplating doing a New York Beauty.
If I paper piece the zigzag pieces, How do I join the plain pieces:
1. take the paper off and join the curve normally
2. put the plain pieces on paper as though they were paper pieced and
join the curves
3. keep the paper on the pieced bits and join...

sweet break -- microwave snack cake by
Mary
I'm sure you have all seen those single-serving "bowls" of cake to
make in the microwave. They're pretty good, but rather expensive.
Well, I had a spare cake mix sitting around, and decided to see if I
could make my own snack cake, and it's delicious! It's also very
easy, and inexpensive. All...
