Happy Dance by Sally Swindells[_3_]
Just finished DDiL's quillow in time and delivered it at the weekend when I had been invited to her baby scan as a part of Mothering Sunday present. Grandchild due 15th June but its sex is unknown as yet and I wasn't allowed a sneaky look! It smiled for me! Now I have to start on the baby...

Question about Summer Quilt Camp in Flagstaff by Sunny[_2_]
I am considering taking quilt classes next summer in Flagstaff. It would let DH spend time with his family down in Phoenix while I'm getting some prime quilt time up in the (relative) cool of Flagstaff. I know some of you have been. Can anybody fill me in? Thanks, Sunny

Ping: Sandy/Pat - Janome question by Polly Esther[_5_]
Okay, friends. You brag about Janome. Here's your chance to shine. Neighbor has a Janome 1600. She asked if I could help her adjust 'decorative' stitches to her needs. "Sure" I thought. I'd read the manual and she could punch the buttons. We weren't trying to embroider the Mona Lisa...

Thread supply woes! by barnyowl[_2_]
For years I have used only Coats&Clark dual duty 100/60 for piecing my quilts which I had sourced in a 6000yd cone from Atlanta Thread&Supply....I was hoping to stock up again but found that the company has been taken over by Wawak Sewing Supplies. The thread isn't shown in their new catalogue...

Owww! Pins! by Trish Brown
I've been quilting-as-I-go for a while now on a horse-flavoured quilt for my sister. Now, normally, I'm not a happy pinner, preferring to just buzz along and use my fingers to keep those layers together. However, with QAYG, you really either need a second set of fingers or a good set of stout...

So who's counting? by Polly Esther[_5_]
When I want to sew but realize that I am somewhat brainless - I serge receiving blankets. You just wouldn't believe what a good receiving blanket costs although you may know that a sweet (but leaky) baby can need several per day. Tonight I find that I have been given 'short shrift'. ( Is that...

Vintage machine questions by AuntK
Who here is the resident vintage machine expert??? There was a thread a while back that someone listed all the various vintage machines they had. Can't remember who it was or the thread and my searches on various members names and other terms has yielded nothing helpful. I need some Singer...

New use, batting roll by Polly Esther[_5_]
You're going to love this. DH's high school class reunion is coming up. I found a special silk ribbon crocheted top but the wonderful matching skirt is only available in "X" sizes. ( You'll remember that you have only 2 token skinny people here and I am one.) The skirt is floral, fluted,...

rctq Susan in need of prayer by Polly Esther[_5_]
Our Susan Laity Price is going to have triple by-pass tomorrow morning. That's kind of ordinary surgery unless, of course, it's one of us. Then it's serious. Please hold our dear friend close in your hearts and up in your prayers. And Dave, too. I was so surprised to get the message. Susan...

Sonny my 5 yr dauchund still loves to chew, so I always keep some rawhide chews I get from the pet department for when he gets boared. There are probably 4 or 5 laying on his dog bed right now. And I always keep a few in the car because he enjoys riding, but alwaus wants something in his...

OMG-Scary-OT by Steven Cook
So, we had a kidnapping of a young 18 year old woman from a coffee stand right arounds it's closing time of 8:30 one night about six weeks ago. She is still missing. Today they announced an arrest of a "person of interest" in Texas. Yes, all that ways away. That doesn't bode well for the...

Wonderful idea for a quilt show by Polly Esther[_5_]
Today at the Pensacola FL quilt show they had an exhibit that I thought was terrific. Named "Quilting Does Matter". Ten or so identical quilts about a yard square, Irish Chain, blue squares on white. Every one was quilted in a different manner by a different quilter. To participate in the...
