trish
Am new to pottery and this group. I took a college course in Ceramics
and loved it. I then bought a wheel and kiln from a neighbor, only to
realize I have no idea how to use an electric kiln. Don't know how to
load, turn it on, bisc or even if it works. Thought I would ask help
from some experts...

Eye Protection by
DDJ via CraftKB.com
I'm new to pottery/raku. I have read that it's bad on your eyes to look into
the kiln without some form of eye protection from the glare. As a result I
purchased a pair of glasses from one of the pottery supply retailers that
would be suitable for welding. Now when I look into the kiln to...

INFORMATION porcelain/pottery by
Ron[_2_]
Hi,
I have been googling quite some time for information about the ingredients
and processes involved in making contemporary porcelain/pottery. But I am
still not satisfied.
It seems as if there are several different opinions about the EXACT
definition of what porcelain is.
The ingredients seem...

big pitcher by
[email protected]
Hi Everyone,
I haven't posted for a while. I went to a workshop over the weekend
and learned a new (to me) way to throw a big pitcher, or vase and I
wanted to share it with you guys. It's made in two pieces. You throw
the bottom just like you ordinarily would and set it aside to become
firm to...

Neph Sye by
D Kat
I got some materials from someone, one of them being labelled neph sye. It
sure looks like Gerstley to me in color and feel. The bag is from Laguna.
My neph sye is and has been white. Has anyone ever gotten any that looks
like a ball clay or gerstley? Donna
