Sewing Interview/Machine by
[email protected]
This morning I interviewed with an interior decorator for a job.
Actually, we interviewed each other, and we both came away with the
notion that we will be able to work well together.
The interview was at her condo. I arrived there to discover that it
is a secure gated community, and she had given...

T-shirt Necklines by
MLWCS
I have a bunch of women's t-shirts (the form-fitting type) that have high
necklines. I would like to lower the necklines, if possible - preferably
scoop and not V. I'm not sure how to do this (without stretching, puckering,
etc.).
Is binding necessary on these mostly 100% cotton T's, or can i...

Singer Featherweight by
Rich Phillips
Hello,
I've just become interested in the Singer Featherweight sewing machines.
I've looked at a number of web pages, but cannot find one that explains the
difference between a 221 and a 221-1.
Does anyone on this list know the answer, or where I can go to find out?
Thanks for your help.

Name that fabric by
duh who
I bought a couple of bolts of fabric from a friend yesterday who inherited a
bunch of stuff from her mother.
One was muslin, the other, hmmm, not sure. Can't tell if its linen, a very
raw muslin, or interfacing. Its stiff, coarse, scratchy, has little woody
pieces in the weave and you can see...

Need to know if velour can be shrunk by
[email protected]
Hi. I own a velour jogging suit that is a little too big for me. It
still looks okay when I wear it, but it is a bit on the baggy side. I
was wondering if any of you know if velour can be shrunk in the
wash/dryer? Thanks for any info.

help - terminology and factors by
duh who
Ok, just got my Wild Ginger software in. Its asking for a couple of setting
I'm not sure of.
One is facing width. I'm doing a coat. What's an adequate setting? 1.5
inches? 2 inches.
The other is hem allowance. What would that be, about 1 inch? 1.5 inches?
