Hello Everyone,
I've washed my woodstove ashes 3 times, sieved them and tied a piece
of cloth over a bucket and dumped the ashes on the cloth and let them
suspend over the bucket a few days but now I think I need to lay them
out flat and break up the clumps but I don't know what to put them on
that...

Ash Glazes by
plodder
Hi all, I wonder if anyone can help with a 'not so sticky' problem I've
recently encountered: I've used ash glazes a few times in the past and
decided to have another go at them as I now have access to a higher
firing kiln than my own small (cone six) kiln. I've started with a very
simple fifty...

ash glazes by
alistair
does anyone have any advice concerning ash glazes? The particular
problem I am encountering is when applying the glaze to the bisc,
having it retract and crack up, this can (not always) make for bare
patches. The problem seems to be mosre so when superposing (in this
case on a tenmokou).
Any advice...

Axner by
Sue Roessel Dura
Hi Folks,
I ordered10 plate setters from Axner. Three of them broke in the first
shipment and two of the three replacement setters broke in the second.
Anyone else have this kind of trouble with them?
Best, Sue

bailey wheels by
Bluehowler
I've searched the google rec.crafts.pottery for advice on Bailey
wheels. It all seems to be positive, but most of the entries are a
year or two old. Does anyone care to put there two cents in on the
subject again? I'm thinking of the ST100 or ST200 - I'm not sure if I
need 100 lb capacity, but I...

baking stones by
Shaun Ginsbourg
How do you make a baking stones?
I read it is a quarry tile (unglazed clay). I suspect they are susceptable
to breaking if they're not made properly.
Does anyone know a reliable method or should I give up and buy one?

Basic kiln questions by
[email protected]
I have an electric hobbycraft kiln with a basic program controller. I
can't seem to find any information about the correct
timings/temperature increases for glaze firings. For example, firing
to cone 06 - how quickly should the kiln reach its top temperature, how
long should it stay there, etc. ...
