Completely OT. ?Skype?? by
Olwyn Mary
As several of you know, I have grandbabies in both California and the
U.K. It really is time for me to set up some type of system whereby
they can SEE me as well as talking to me.
I have broadband, and a Micro-cam which the son of a friend pushed me
into buying about five years back, but it...

Waiting, I'm waiting. . . by
lewmew
How long do you expect to wait for an order from an ONS?
I placed an order for some threads about 10 days ago. Got a quick
"your order was received". Then, about five days later, I get another
email saying "we received your order and will ship it in about a
week." Now, this is just some plain...

GROUP use of Amazing Box to convert FREE design downloads??? by
Linda
It is really frustrating to have a Janome 9000 -- able to use MOST
of the bells and whistles that the other 'big' embroidery machines
have --
but the .sew format and wierd-sized disk they use (not a small floppy
and
not a CD), makes life really difficult! There are all these designs
on the
Net...

Help please by
Bruce[_4_]
I'm looking for a floor-standing light to help Maureen with her sewing
when she's sitting in her armchair. The current, rather old-fashioned
standard lamp is not much use and I've read some good reports about
"Ottlite" lamps. Has anyone on here got any recommendations (and UK
sources)?

retired floss by
Mitch
I jusr downloaded the shopping list for floss from the dmc website and as I
was checking my stash I found that I had several numbers of floss that were
not listed. is this a result of too many hours spent late at night winding
bobbins or did DMC actually stop producing certain numbers of floss?

VOT. Rabbit joke. by
Gillian Murray
A woman walks into a vet's waiting room, dragging a wet rabbit on a leash.
"Sit, Fluffy," she says.
Fluffy glares at her and then the soaking-wet rabbit jumps up on another
customer's lap, getting water all over him.
"I said sit, Fluffy!" the woman shouts. "Don't you want to be a good
little...

Stitching on 28 Count by
Suzanne
When you're using a 28 count evenweave fabric, do you always stitch
over 2 threads? This may seem like a dumb question, but I'm really not
sure. All of my stitching before has been with kits or whatever that
tells just what size fabric to use and how many threads to stitch. It
just seems like a...

lost needle by

Has anyone found the needle I lost last night? It was a #26, threaded with
2 strands of DMC 728 Topaz. It seems to have run away from home.
I hope no one steps on it and gets hurt.

Amiguruumi by

I posted this on the yarn group, but haven't had a response. Is there
anyone here who can help?
Does anyone have any amigurumi patterns they are willing to share? I'm
looking for some that come out the size a thumb, or smaller, if that's
possible. I did see one some time ago, and it wasn't...

Well - I'm trying to clean out a little and I'm starting new bags to go to

So, in no particular order
Monica Ferris - ok, I need the most recent ones in paperback still, but
these stay put.

Hardanger happy by
Mmeindia
Just a short report on that hardanger piece I tried, with a few additional
questions. I didn't make it to a store in time to get 32-count linen, so I did
it on the 22-count Hardanger that was included with the kit. I am happy to say
that the white on white, finer scissors, and fabric with fewer...

The Firehouse Angel Moves On by
Carolyn Wagner
I went to the post office today and sent the Angel on to Heather in New
York. I wasn't able to do as much as I would have liked (my 76-year-old
mother had a seizure and was just discharged from the hospital), but she
sure was nice to have a part in.
Diane, I don't have a scanner, so either I can...
