Finishing a Candlewicking Pillow by
anne
Last night I put the final knot on a candlewicking pillow top. I had purchased
the kit for $1.00 at the rummage sale and opted to do it immediately because,
despite its size, it was easy to take to several stitching sessions. Instead of
using ecru thread on ecru muslin, I used cranberry-ish...

design transfer with graphite paper?? by
Dawne Peterson
I went looking for some transfer paper to transfer a design from a print out
to a tea towel for surface embroidery. The local stitch shop said ordinary
graphite paper would work just fine. Has anybody ever done this?? Did it
wash out??? I have used graphite paper to trace a draft of lettering...

Rev up those prayer circles by
Karen C in California
Last week, my good friend Rebecca was operated on for flesh-eating
bacteria. The doctors were optimistic, it appeared they'd gotten the
whole infection.
This morning, I got this from John:
Rebecca has gotten worse since I last wrote. According to the doctor,
she has had a series of ten...

Altering sweaters by
Cheryl Isaak
Ok gang -the good news is that I'm continuing to lose weight. The bad news
is that some favorite sweaters are now way too big; one V-neck, one turtle
neck and one cardigan. The cardigan can be worn over things and is the
lowest priority. The other two are supposed to be the bottom layer or...

Able Stretcher bars by
anne
It was love at first sight when I saw my friend's piece mounted on able
stretcher bars. JT trading apparently imports 'em from the UK but I haven't
found them in the U.S. except at lacis.com. Does anyone have another source?
Has anyone ordered anything from lacis?

Picture wanted by
lewmew
I want to do a picture of a rabbit blowing a dandelion puff - anyone
remember seeing one? If I could even find a picture of a rabbit
standing, I could probably adapt it. Maybe someone here has better
googling skills than me!
TIA

Using a buttonhole foot by
windwatcher
I have a Viking Freesia 415 and I'm trying to use the one-step
buttonhole foot, which I haven't done in a really long time,
practicing on scrap of the garment material, including interfacing.
The rows come out two close together to cut between without ripping
threads on one side. How do I avoid...
