Damp Sponge Technique by
Naomah[_2_]
Does anyone use a damp sponge on their floss before stitching?
Does it help the thread lay better and not twist so much?
I have heard of the technique but have never tried it.

East Central Florida Stitchers by
Duerling
Hello,
I saw where someone lived in East Central Florida and knew of the "Knit &
Stitch" in Cocoa Village. I tried emailing, but couldn't get through. I
live in Merritt Island, and would like to meet other nearby stitchers. I
know Gillian lives near Lakeland (I believe that's about 1 1/2 hrs...

Newbie on board by
StitchingNut
Hi, fellow stitchers,
just wanted to introduce myself. I am a Designer from Australia. Embroidery
& Cross Stitch has now published quite a lot of my designs. My main focus is
on Hardanger, or Hardanger combined with other stitches. And I love to work
on linen with these yummy silks. Hmmm, they...

O.T: replacing wallpaper with paint? by
Liz
My bathroom is driving me crazy! We lived with the ugly wallpaper (1
ft square Italian tile type design) for about 12 years but I finally
peeled that off about three years ago. It seems to have been the water
resistant type that, when peeled off, leaves a newsprint type mocha
colored paper...

Framing help by
Donkeydode
I have tons of frameable items of memorabilia, such as vintage ashtrays,
casino chips, menus, photos, ect. It would cost me 10x as much to display
the items as it did to acquire them. My question is, where can I go to buy
the materials and gain the know how to do this kind of thing on my own?

A Little S.E.X. by
Ellice
Well, I finally went to my friend's LNS - nice - it's the January inventory
sale. She's doing something different - rather than have a pile of
discounted books - there's a big jar, and you reach in, pull out a card, and
get your discount form 10% - 50% (thought I think most are about 20%)....

Ideas for finishing a project by
Ceredwynn \(remove the bad robot to reply\)
I've got a really great friend who is graduating from law school in May. I
decided to make her something as a graduation gift. I designed a pattern
using photo x pro from a pre-raphaelite picture of the Lady of Shallot. I
wanted it to be a big, impressive looking piece she could hang on her...

stretcher bars by
bheider
What do you recommend for stretcher bars for a 24X24 inch canvas -- mono 14?
Can I use a scroll frame -- will it hurt the canvas to be rolled up like
that?
Thanks.

Favorite (or favourite as spelled in Oz) Music by
Sandy Bell
Friends & I exchange personal cd's each Christmas with between 17 - 20
songs we love. You would think this was a tough thing to do after
afew years but once you get started the songs just keep popping into
your head. So I thought I'd ask," What 5 songs would you put on a cd
for a friend?" To be...

I think we have lost another LNS by
deniseb
I just received an email from Country Craft Cupboard in Berlin, Ohio.
It stated that the Stitching House was changing it's name to CCC, too!
The manager of 8 years has quit and moved to a none related retail
store and there will be a new manager at CCC, too! The owner of the
Country Craft Cupboard...

Stitch Question by
Alison
I have a stitch question for stitch mavens. I like to make barrettes
using variegated thread, and I use Rhodes stitches on perforated
plastic, 5 holes square. I have some beautiful variegated silk perle
and the Rhodes stitches just don't do it justice. I've done one
barrette in alternating...

bright and deep colors.
The nature in Tropical countries is indeed colorful But houses are mostly painted in lighter colors , white
