needle size for perle cotton? by
Julie Edman
I am going to stitch a shephards bush halloween thing (forget the name)
on 18 count linen over 2...Most of the stitching is done with #5 perle
cotton. (Some of the lettering is done in a finer thread I believe)
What size needle should I be using?
Thanks in advance!

Crossed Wing Collection by
Sharon
One of the projects I've just started is Belted Kingfisher by Crossed
Wing Collection. I always start from the top and work down and lo and
behold, one of the symbols indicated DMC 375. I knew I had a pretty
good collection of floss but could not find this number. Last night I
emailed Crossed...

Eggs by

After the recent paint job, I went into a reorganization frenzy. In the
process, I unearthed a trapunto/candlewicking kit. It was put out by the
Creative Circle, circa 1986, and is called Still Life Trapunto. I got it from
Ebay and started doing the flower filled pitcher as directed, using satin...

Project longing by
[email protected]
I only have a couple Xst projects not in storage currently, and
stupidly I didn't grab one of the Long Dog Samplers to be one of them.
I love the TW Welcome I'm working on, I do, but stitching it doesn't
provide the same level of relaxation and stress relief that the
monotone samplers do. It's...

OT - anyone else rubber stamp as a second hobby? by
Barbara Hass
I have two primary hobbies: cross-stitch and rubber stamping (making cards).
I've thoroughly enjoyed rctn, and also found r.c.rs
(rec.crafts.rubberstamps) a while ago. Rcrs has been primarily ads with
not much activity, so many of us just lurked in the hopes of some
discussion up to now, but a...

Frogging Beads---grrrrrrr by
Dawne Peterson
I took out a sampler I thought was finished, and decided that one row of
lettering looked off. This meant I had to frog it, and two subsequent
rows, and, worst of all, a row of beading, since changing the one row made
all of them look off too. I never want to frog beading again. The
lettering is...

A few weeks ago, someone was looking for charts of herbs. I just cleaned

some time back (issue 86). Smaller motifs (suitable for cards or
bookmarks) comprise...

Has anyone ever stitched those free charts she gave away of the earth
and one of the moon? I still have them in my stash, but haven't
stitched them yet. I was wondering if anyone ever did.
