transferring multi-size patterns by
valerie soe
I just got one of those mutiple-size patterns & I want to use more
than one size from it. What's a good way to transfer the separate
sizes so I can do this?

Sewing Kit update by
Valkyrie
The sewing kits were a HUGE success! One of the big problems with giving
these guys gifts is that they all have great jobs and pretty much just buy
what they want when they want it so coming up with something “priceless” is
always a problem. We had good laughs about the choice of lunchboxes,...

author, author!! by
Valkyrie
A while back one of our threads forked off to favorite books. I can't
remember which newsgroup it was in so I'm cross posting to cover all bases.
Somebody mentioned an author who was solving mysteries while dragging her
sewing machines around with her, or something like that. I actually did
write...

OT.....NOT an Urban Legend by
Valkyrie
This is a heads-up to those friends who haven't
experienced it yet, and an
explanation to those friends and family who have.
Most of you have read the
scare-mail about the person whose kidneys were
stolen while he was passed
out. Well, read on. While the kidney story was
an urban legend, this...

Sewing box is complete! by
Valkyrie
The sewing kits are assembled, wrapped, ribboned and ready for Christmas
Eve.
I found boxes of assorted spools of thread, just a bit smaller than a
regular small spool. They were at the Big Lots store. Nice assortments with
twelve spools in each box, a "light", has white and a "dark", has black....

sewing box - HELP! by
Valkyrie
I am putting together some sewing boxes for a few of the 20-30 somethings on
my list. It seems there's always talk among my sons group that finding a
needle to sew on a button or make a quick fix is a problem. I have some of
those little metal lunch boxes and I'm going to put the stuff in those....

Thanksgiving poem by
Valkyrie
'Twas the night of Thanksgiving, But I just couldn't sleep
I tried counting backwards, I tried counting sheep.
The leftovers beckoned
The dark meat and white But I fought the temptation
With all of my might.
Tossing and turning with anticipation
The thought of a snack became infatuation.
So, I...

FYI: skating and dance costume people by
Valkyrie
As I have been searching around for "viking fabric" I found this website
that seems to have some very nice fabric at really good prices that I
thought you might be interested in perusing. Not a sales pitch, just a
thought. I just ordered some stretchy velvet for a little winter lounging
attire ...

I am look for a cotton print with Vikings.......not the football guys, the

Organize stuff by
Valkyrie
I found an informative site on organizing suggestions for sewing and craft
rooms. This always seems to be a topic of discussion here so I thought I'd
post it if anyone would be interested.

I sincerely apologize to all whom I said I would send out the digitized

ears on that two piece teddy bear pattern " 2/24/2004 making teddy

It seemed like it took forever to get that new floppy disc...

Pattern weights by
Valkyrie
I got a little sidetracked while doing a Google for a rice cooker, like that
never happens to anyone else, right? LOL Anyway I found these directions
for using up those sewing scrapes for pattern weights. After reading the
instructions I remembered that I have a 5 gallon bucket full of...

Thoughts on arrival of new machines by
Valkyrie
As I have been reading the NGs having to do with sewing a thought all of a
sudden occurred to me. The decisions involved, waiting for and arrival of
new machines (often referred to as my/our baby) is much like that of the
arrival of a much anticipated child. I know writing out that check after...

I need little faces in Hus. by
Valkyrie
I am sewing little bears, a two piece pattern about 8-9 inches high, the
area for the face would be about 1 1/2 inches square. I am looking for bear
type faces to embroider on these little creatures. These little bears are
for the Women/Children shelter and for our police to carry in their cars...

is this going to work?? by
Valkyrie
Well, I was looking at CheapTrims for the first time and the creative juices
started flowing. I was looking at the feather trim on tapes and got a little
designing brainstorm. Well, maybe not a completely original idea but I'm a
Fashiontrance fan and I've seen some haute designs with feathers and I...

what's that book? by
Valkyrie
I'm not sure if this is the NG or not but somebody, somewhere, awhile ago,
mentioned a series of novels written about some gal who hauls her sewing
machine around with her solving mysteries or something like that. I wrote
down the author to check out book stores and now I can't find where I...

Serging and Overlocking by
vanda
Hi.
I am new to serging and am getting rather frustrated. I have an Elna
744. I am trying to do an overlock 3 stitch. I have threaded and
rethreaded my machine dozens of times. I have read and re-read the
manual and watched the video. No matter what I do I cannot get the
machine to lock the...
